Game Thread: New York Yankees @ Toronto Blue Jays 9/21

The New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays are just about ready to kick off the biggest series of the season since the last biggest series of the season. They are all big series but this one may take the cake as it is the last three times these two teams face off head-to-head this season. In the first game of the series the Yankees will send Adam Warren to the mound looking to lead the team back into the AL East Division discussion while the Blue Jays counter with their ace David Price. The game will be played at 7:05 pm ET and can be seen on the YES Network and MLB TV.

After this three game series up in Toronto the team returns home for their last big home stand of the 2015 season. New York will play host to both the Chicago White Sox and the Boston Red Sox in a pair of four-game series which could make or break and define the 2015 season. Click the Yankees Tickets link at the top of the blog to see the team at home for the last time this regular season. Also be sure to head over to Twitter to give @GreedyStripes a follow so we can root for the home team all the way to the postseason.

The Yankees offense is read to get to Price and Warren is ready to show the world that New York made the right decision placing him in the starting rotation over Ivan Nova. Go Yankees!

    3. If it had been Evo the same would have been done by mr. Hans so...

    4. Don't know why that posted twice. I'll blame it on the new phone.

    6. Hey Warren crapped the bed last night big deal. Every single pitcher does it.

    7. Burch what I feel you don't understand about the WP is that he is not the pitcher you and other brain surgeons on here think he is. Does he have a winning record the answer is yes. Has he improved the answer is yes. Is he a top flight pitcher the answer is NO. Is he a back end of the rotation pitcher the answer is Yes 4 definitely a 5.

A pitcher that gets almost 7 runs a start and doesn't pitch deep into a game has a high era and gives up way too many hits is not a top flight pitcher. Warren has been screwed over numerous times and whether you or anyone else wants to admit it he was the best pitcher we had until being sent to the pen. Again his record doesn't reflect what it should be just as the WP record doesn't reflect who he really is.

    8. Me and the other "brain surgeons" (there we go with the childish name calling still...) don't agree. I've been the one that always connected my praises with a "for a 4th or 5th starter." ie He's far exceeded the expectations for a 4th or 5th starter. I have NEVER said he was a top flight starter or an ace, as far as I went was to say that he would start a playoff game for this team if they went to the ALDS.

    9. and the "he had a bad night"excuse was invalid when Eovaldi did it against Miami, even after rattling off great performance after great performance after that start, so that excuse should be invalid for Warren as well. Right? Especially after he crapped the bed the start before as well...

Guess that's because the Yankees "messed with him." Although Evo's routine was messed with every start almost giving this guy extra rest and having him pitch on four days rest this week, six the next week, five the next week etc. etc. etc.

Guess that argument is invalid too. It's Eovaldi.

    10. Damn, dat dar sho be a damn good'en!

I may have given the wrong impression of Evo because, I have said he has the tools to be a top-flight pitcher. Something I really believe. With his improvement, this year and (hopefully) next spring we could end up with a damn good pitcher...whather one calls him a #2-3-4-5, I don't care as long as he keeps improving and gets a put away pitch (somehow) maybe a great Change-up!

    11. Ok so lets see calling someone an idiot from NJ or going to the looney bin is ok by your standards. Very hypercritical but expected and by the way brain surgeon is not a childish mock.

    12. And I spoke to Patrick privately about it. I don't have your email to speak to you privately about it.

Brain surgeon was a condescending and very tongue in cheek remark. If you deny that you are not being an honest person. Name calling at your age, which I assume is above teenage years, is childish in my opinion. I'll tell anyone that so its not just me picking on you and I'm damn sure not being hypocritical.

    13. KEN HANS...your shorts are on too tight.
Idiots, tend to gravitate to New Jersey. Look around you. Better yet, look in the mirror.

Bottom line...this is a must win tonight. The train is running out of track.

Thanks all...for the kind remarks on my return. Was not looking for that, but thanks again.

It was everything it was billed to be. He was a fine man. Sad ending.

Hope this finds you well. Thanks for the words. Will not leave you.

    15. I think that is the only war movie I have ever watched. You are right he was one of the good guys. The one thing I took away from it other than how good he was is, how he worked to get his life back together again. Many can't do it and he was a "Long Man" or "Angel" with a hell of a record. We never count our shots, but his spotters did. I don't think I could have done his job even IF I could have shot with only one eye. Bird hunters use two eyes, most of us anyhow.

On a sad note, I am now TLMS.

  2. (p)....16399EricByrnes0964. That was me.

I must apologize for not handling a situation correctly. I saddled up, and headed out of town.
I saw other people do the same thing, and I made fun of them. Then, I did it.
    Sorry, I apologize...for being a Nancy.

I have spoken with Mr. Burch, and he has allowed me to take my place on the bench.
    Much thanks.

The long number above ?...I usually tell idiots to go to the Creedmoor Psych Center.
This time I went there, and that was my number. The rations were OK.

Best thing about my sabbatical ?....I was not in New Jersey.

  4. I swear I don't know what's going on. I'm really not narsasistic enough to think people need to read my posts twice. But just in case it happens again, can you say enough about Greg Bird? Has he done enough to force himself into the RYO conversation? Kudos to Cashman for making him "untouchable."

Welcome back little p. Now how about those sugar packets? That's some advice that will help later in life.

    1. Jeff, are you logged in under two devices or something? Maybe that could be causing it? If you were on a computer I could likely fix you right up, on a phone who knows. I assume you've tried to completely close the app, maybe turn the phone off and on?
