For the final time this season we will use our weekly check
in post to check in on the Yankees top prospect, Mr. Aaron Judge. Judge’s
season ended last week in the playoffs in disappointing fashion as the
Scranton/Wilkes Barre RailRiders fell short in their journey for the Governor’s
Cup. Judge was surprisingly a non-factor for Scranton for much of the second
half of the season and for most of the playoffs leaving you to wonder if The
Judge is truly ready for the next level.
It’s not a coincidence that after Judge missed a week with
an injury, which is still a mystery to this day although he was seen in the
locker room and clubhouse with his back wrapped days before coming back into
the lineup, that his Triple-A numbers went on a steady decline. His strikeout
numbers went up, his batting average went down and despite him catching up to
one and hitting a home run every once in a while he definitely did not showcase
his true talents against next level pitching this season.
Judge will be fine, I feel that in my heart. Congrats on the
great season Aaron and here’s to a healthy and even more productive 2016 season.
