Game Preview: New York Yankees @ Baltimore Orioles 9/4

One more time this weekend as the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles make the trip to Camden Yards to complete their three-game set. This series has hurt the Yankees in more ways than one unfortunately both in the player personnel department and in the standings as well. At some point the Yankees need to start sweeping series and this would have been the perfect one to start with. Oh well, go for a victory and head into the Labor Day holiday with the good times rolling again. In the finale of the contest today the Yankees will send Michael Pineda to the mound to square off against the Orioles starter Wade Miley.

Pineda is still having a hell of an up and down season and that continued last time out against the Kansas City Royals. Pineda struck out eight batters without allowing a walk but he did give up five runs in six innings of work. What will happen today? Nobody knows, not even Pineda.

Miley has not been great since coming over to the Baltimore Orioles and we all hope that continues this afternoon against the Yankees. Miley did throw seven innings in his last start and has posted a 3.75 ERA in his last two starts but his starts have still been rocky.

The game will be played at 1:35 pm ET inside Oriole Park and Camden Yards and can be seen on the YES Network and MLB TV. Get a victory boys, that's all we need to do and that's all that needs to be said. Let's get it. Go Yankees!

  1. Question;
    Should the Yankees try and give Tanaka a new contract over the winter, after he opts out next year (age of 28) or, not sign him at all?

    Come on guys, I know you all have an opinion! Let's see what you think?

    1. Try to give him a contract on our terms.Three years with team options or vesting options given health (his elbow). If he doesn't want it then that gives the Yankees a year to find a suitable replacement or three, we aren't banking on 2017 anyway.

  2. Try to extend for 5 years. Or. Let him walk/look to trade him and go huge on ohtani.

  3. Good thoughts guys, I'll buy both ideas and add a caveat...sign ohtani before doing anything with Tank!

    1. Ya, I've been asking about him. He's young (even if he's not posted for 2 years), and some say the best pitcher to ever come from Japan.

      Ya, I'm fine with going big.
