The New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians will be back
at it again today inside Cleveland’s Progressive Field in the third of a
four-game set between the two clubs. Thursday night we were entertained with a
matchup of aces while the young guns took the mound for their respective teams
last night. Tonight each team will take more of a veteran type mindset as the
Yankees send CC Sabathia to the mound to face off with Mike Clevinger. CC
against his old team and the team that drafted him once again, let’s get to it
here inside Progressive Field.
Sabathia took the loss in his last start against the Baltimore
Orioles after allowing five runs on seven hits including two home runs and will
need to pitch much better tonight against a strong Cleveland offense. Sabathia
is no stranger to pitching inside Progressive Field and has posted 123 career
starts in Cleveland which is good for a 51-41 record and a 3.80 ERA.
Clevinger will also be looking to pitch much better tonight
than he did in his last start after allowing five runs on seven hits in six innings
of work against the Cincinnati Reds. Clevinger did strike out 11 batters in the
start but was hit hard by the Reds offense. In Clevinger’s last ten starts the
righty has posted a 4-4 record with a 3.88 ERA.
The game will be played at 7:15 pm ET inside Progressive
Field in Cleveland and can be seen on FOX. You can also follow along with the
game on MLB TV, with the MLB At-Bat app and by tuning into the Yankees radio
broadcast with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman on WFAN.
Enjoy the game, CC needs to pitch like the CC of old tonight
for a victory and go Yankees!!
