Subway Series Game Thread: Yankees @ Mets 5/14
The New York Yankees and the New York Mets will take the subway and travel to Citi Field as the Subway Series shifts venues for tonight's game. The pitching matchup is Masahiro Tanaka for the Yankees facing off with the Mets Rafael Montero making his major league debut. The game will be played at 7:10 pm ET and can be seen on MY9, ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball, MLB TV, and can be heard on the radio with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman on WFAN.
The Yankees tickets in Flushing are actually cheaper than they were at Yankee Stadium so take advantage of that if you can. You can get your tickets for this game and every Yankees game right here on the blog through our friends at TiqIQ. Also remember to follow us on twitter, @GreedyStripes, where the conversation (and ranting lately) is always going on. Drop us a line in the comments section of the site and someone will be there to talk Yankees baseball as well.
Enjoy the night Yankees family and definitely enjoy the game.

Yankees Announce Mariano Rivera Bobble Head Day
The Yankees have announced that they will be giving away Mariano Rivera bobble head dolls on September 24th when the Yankees host the Tampa Bay Rays at Yankees Stadium. There is no better way to say goodbye and thank an icon than to immortalize him in a bobble head. Make sure to buy your Yankees tickets for the game now because this is definitely selling out fast.
TiqIQ's job is to find the best deals and sellers out there on the market, and for Yankees tickets, check out the Yankees Official Ticket Exchange.

Bald Vinny Invites Our Readers To Section 203
By Bald Vinny
This season TiqIQ has partnered with The Bleacher Creature himself, Bald Vinny, to bring you ‘81 days in 203’, a series of articles breaking down the life of a super fan. ’81 days in 203’ articles will be featured on various Yankees blogs within the TiqiQ network of blogs and will be posted throughout the 2013 season. Remember, for the best deals on not only New York Yankees tickets, but all MLB tickets, visit TiqIQ.com.
The first homestand for 2013 is in the books, and it feels like quite a relief (though, admittedly, I do wish it was a bit longer than three games). After the exhilaration of Opening Day (and the requisite day off) Game Two could be summed up in one word: Cold
It was seriously one of the coldest games I had ever been to. The temps were low, the winds were whipping, and the play on the field made it even harder to sit through. Aside from a brief respite in the early innings (shout out to Zak at Steiner Sports for the Luxury Box invite) I stayed for the entire game in Section 203.
Yes, the ENTIRE game.
For those of you that know me, it's not uncommon for me to bounce out of the game an inning early to head to my t-shirt stand. Business comes first for me in the Bronx, and if the crowd is heading for the gates or my assistance is needed, I will sometimes split early. I really had nothing to do outside on Wednesday, so I stuck it out with a few of my Creature brothers and sisters until the final out (there were 6 of us left in the bottom of the 9th). Not sure what I was hoping to see, but when I finally thawed out, I swore that I still had a good time.
Game three was immensely better, if not simply for the weather, but for the Yankee win. I know it's still very early in a long season, but with the way people talk about this team coupled with the first two games, we even found ourselves getting excited about simply having a lead (yeah, sometimes confidence can feel that low). Yanks hung on to win it, and the mood on the avenue felt good after the game for a change.
I hate to sound like a sap, but I do get a little sad when the Yanks hit the road. I really enjoy being on the ave and interacting with so many passionate and knowledgeable Yankee fans. It makes even the longest, coldest, losing-est game a bit more bearable (and this week, every little bit of that helped!). Yanks return next Friday, and I'm already looking forward to the first Friday night game in Section 203 (If you've never been, it's an entertainment spectacle unto itself).
Hopefully next week will show the return to more seasonable, baseball like weather. If you get the chance to join us out in 203, it's sure to be a good time.

TicketMaster, StubHub, TiqIQ, And The Yankees
I really do not understand all this commotion over the New York Yankees tickets this off season. First we heard that the Yankees opted out of the MLB deal with Stubhub and decided to start their own Yankees Ticket Exchange with the help of Ticketmaster and now we hear that the Yankees are suing Stubhub to prevent them from opening up a shop near the stadium. I just have to ask myself why. What do the Yankees care how much places like TiqIQ and Stubhub sell the tickets for? Last I checked the tickets on both of those sites were second hand tickets, which means someone has already paid the Yankees astronomical asking price once for these tickets that are, in most cases, not going to be used without the help of these second hand ticket sites. If it were not for places like TiqIQ and Stubhub you would not garner nearly as much revenue if the tickets went wasted, which means no concessions, no parking, no merchandise, etc, than if they were sold below face value. TiqIQ's job is finding the best deals and sellers out there for you, and for this game you may want to have a look at GoTickets for New York Yankees tickets. I do not purchase season tickets mainly because I live in Atlanta, Georgia but even if I did I think I would have to resist feeding into the Yankees greed and would purchase ALL my tickets off sites like this. I can understand that making money is the ultimate goal in baseball because baseball is a business first but there comes a point where a team goes to far and the Yankees are walking that dangerous line right now...
