Scorpions rally in extras for thrilling 2-1 win over Mesa

Despite trailing 1-0 going into the bottom of the ninth inning, the Scorpions beat the Mesa Solar Sox this afternoon in 10 innings, 2-1. The Sox had some dominant pitching today, so this loss must really sting. They had this one in their back pocket, but now it's gone, and their lead over the Scorps in the AFL East is now down to just 1.5 games.

Pinstripes outfield prospect Mason Williams went just 1-for-4 in this game with a single and a walk. Despite getting on base twice, the speedster did not score a run. As for catcher Peter O'Brien, he went 0-for-4 today with a strikeout. They won, but no thanks to him.

As for the pitchers, Pinstripes prospects James Pazos and Fred Lewis each threw scoreless innings. Now I don't want to take away from that success, but in this win it seemed easy to get outs. The Solar Sox just looked terrible.
