Joel Sherman used his Twitter feed to give us all some more information regarding Rusney Castillo, the Cuban outfielder that the Yankees would apparently like to play second base.
Rusney and his representatives are mulling over offers from various teams, and could make a decision next week. Some of the teams interested in Castillo are in a hurry to sign him, as a player must be on the roster by August 31st in order to be eligible for the postseason. Not to mention that teams would likely want a player to get some at bats in the minors first, and the minor league season ends in a few weeks.
I did find it interesting that Sherman included the Yankees among the non-contenders. Not because it isn't true, but because the Yankees are rarely not looked at as postseason contenders.
