Atlanta Braves to Open SunTrust Park Against the Yankees

As a displaced Yankees fan living in Metro Atlanta, Georgia and as a Yankees fan that loves and misses his team like no other I only have one word to describe what I am just about to tell you. Hallelujah.

The New York Yankees are still very much in the playoff race in 2016 and presumably have not even thought about next month, let alone next year, but that hasn’t stopped the organization from making plans for the 2017 season. See the Atlanta Braves are opening a new stadium in 2017 called SunTrust Park and the team will open up and unveil the new stadium in an exhibition game at the end of spring training against none other than the Bronx Bombers.

The Braves say this game will only be available to season ticket holders but I say if I check StubHub and Ticket Monster enough I think I’ll find a pair of seats. The game will take place on March 31, 2017 and frankly I absolutely cannot wait. I’ll be there or you all have permission to take my Yankees fan card and burn it.

What great news this is! Awesome.

Wrigley Field Bleacher Won’t Be Ready for Opening Day

This isn’t really news concerning the New York Yankees but I thought it was interesting enough to share with you guys and gals this morning. The main reason I wanted to share is because it’s embarrassing to the game and it has to be embarrassing to the Cubs. The organization has been talking up their renovations of Wrigley Field for what seems like forever now and when they finally pull the trigger they find out the new bleachers won’t be ready in time for Opening Day.

The Cubs are replacing the right and left field bleachers as a part of a five year overhaul of the 100 year old Wrigley Field in case you’re not up to speed on what is going on in Chicago. Supposedly the bleachers will not be ready until Early May in left field and late May in right field. This is causing the Cubs to either relocate or refund around 1,000 season ticket holders before May 11.

It’s also worth noting that the big left field video screen will be ready on Opening Day but the smaller one in right field will not be operational in May. What a mess, but at least you got Jon Lester.

Yankees Announce 2014 Season Ticket Prices

It is no secret that the Yankees were not that good last year, the YES Network ratings showed it and attendance showed it, and this will carry over into 2014. Today we learned that somewhere around 39,000 seats in the stadium will stay the same price while another 9,000 seats will see decreases in prices. We actually only saw 2,000 seats increase in price, which if I had to guess I would say they were either luxury boxes or the nose bleeds seats, go figure.

The Yankees are also changing the names of certain sections, and probably increasing the price of the tickets, by naming them Outdoor Suite Boxes. The Yankees are also adding, which is currently under construction, the Field MVP Club Lounge and are renovating the Home Plate Team Store. The Yankees are adding more premium seating and decreasing the prices for the working man in other sections so maybe we can see more of a fan presence at this games this season.

Yankees& Ticketmaster For Yankees Ticket Exchange

The Yankees and Ticketmaster have joined forces against Stubhub after opting out of the MLB Stubhub deal and formed the Yankees Ticket exchange program. This exchange, much like Stubhub, will allow fans to buy and sell their unused tickets to every Yankees game safely and securely. The tickets will be available for immediate download, which is convenient, and will have no price floor which is great for fans. You will still be able to buy tickets on Stubhub but they will not be available for immediate download so they get you either way.
