Yankees Call Up Adam Warren & Ryoto Igarashi

The Yankees have called up starter Adam Warren from AAA Empire State Yankees and reliever Ryoto Igarashi. Warren will get the start in his major league debut on Friday in place of CC Sabathia against the Chicago White Sox.

Andy Pettitte To Miss 6 Weeks With Fractured Ankle

And the hits just keep on coming... ok sorry, maybe my choice of words and analogies was not the greatest right there. Just hours after we heard that CC Sabathia would be going to the DL we learned that Andy Pettitte would be joining him. Andy took a line drive come backer to the left ankle and x rays showed that it is fractured. He will not require surgery but it will take at least 6 weeks of healing before we see Andy back on the mound.

No word yet on who will come up to start and take his spot on the roster but my money is still on Adam Warren coming up with David Phelps.

HOPE Week Day 3 : Andy Fass

Andy Fass is legally blind 5 year old child but still plays tee Ball for fun. Many Yankees will be surprising him today with a visit in honor of him and for HOPE Week. Here is a little story about Andy...

THE STORY OF ANDY FASS:
A chance encounter gave five-year-old Andy Fass a new goal and hope. As someone who has a condition called oculocutaneous albinism, which affects approximately 40,000 people around the world, Andy is legally blind and without pigment in his skin, forcing him to avoid long exposure to the sun. Though Andy has always gravitated to people and many individual activities, he was told baseball would never be an option due to the contact and the chance of injury due to moving objects.
All of that changed, however, on April 25, 2012, when Andy Pettitte, who was making a start at Trenton, gave little Andy the baseball he was using to warm up. Encouraged by the gesture, little Andy – who was attending his first-ever professional baseball game – was immediately inspired to sign up for tee-ball and take on the challenge.

CC Sabathia Placed On 15 Day DL

CC Sabathia has been placed on the 15 day DL today with a Grade 1 strain in his left groin. He never mentioned this until it persisted in his bullpen yesterday afternoon. CC will miss at least 2 starts with this abductor muscle injury and will be out until after the All Star Break. No mention on who will make his starts or, if anybody, who will take his roster spot.

My thoughts would be that either David Phelps or Adam Warren come up to the majors to fill in the long relief role and Freddy Garcia gets CC's two starts against the White Sox and the Rays. That is just my pure speculation though and I could possibly be totally wrong.

Indians @ Yankees 6/27/12

UPDATE

ANDY PETTITTE has left the game with an apparent ankle injury after being hit in the left ankle with a come back line drive. No news yet on the severity of the injury.

Robinson Cano hit a two run home run to put the Yankees up 4-3 in the bottom of the 7th inning.

This afternoon the Yankees look for the sweep over the Cleveland Indians. The game will be televised at 1:05 pm ET on MLB Network and the YES Network. Andy Pettitte will be on the mound for the Yankees and will be facing Indians righty Ubaldo Jimenez.
