On the Final Day of the Winter Meetings…

On the final day of the Winter Meetings Brian Cashman should give me, Max Scherzer under my tree.

On the third day of the Winter Meetings Brian Cashman should have given me, Jon Lester pitching and Max Scherzer under my tree.

On the second day of the Winter Meetings Brian Cashman should have given me, David Robertson as Houdini, Jon Lester pitching and Max Scherzer under my tree.

On the first day of the Winter Meetings Brian Cashman should have given me, a reliable third baseman someone like Chase Headley, David Robertson as Houdini, Jon Lester pitching and Max Scherzer under my tree.

But he hasn’t and he won’t. Fire Cashman?

  1. Brandon McCarthy signed with the Dodgers.

Fire Cashman now if he doesn't get Scherzer. This guy's ending the season before it begins

    1. Cashman, sign Scherzer...NOW!
Like I said before, one 6 year contract will not hurt for a very good 30 year old pitcher.

  2. I've heard Scherzer wants 7 or even 8 years now...

  3. I wouldn't go crazy for Scherzer, but since the bullpen isn't as strong as we thought it would be, then another strong starter would certainly be a plus. And Max shouldn't be a total loss the last few years of his contract.

  4. Scherzer is a Boras client, he is going to want crazy. Especially with Lester off the board.

    1. If he won't go for 6 years or, maybe with the money going down as he ages to the end of the contract...I'd go 7 years, and that is it. Front load the damn thing and get this over with or tell him to walk.
Let's see how big his ego is shall we? Big ego, big market, big man on the staff!

  5. What your going to get for Christmas under the Yankee tree is a 4th or 5th rate pitcher and we already have enough of them. Remember all teams are flushed with cash from TV contracts so the Yanks aren't the big spenders anymore. They are a 3 Billion dollar valued franchise that thinks they are the Astro's or the Marlin's who all of a sudden decided to spend money. George always reinvested in the team and his motto was spend money to make money and he did. This current team is a joke

    1. whats sad is, up until next year when there is no farewell tour for Rivera or Jeter, the team has made it's money recently too.
