The Return Of Chien-Ming Wang

Yesteday Jon Heyman announced on Twitter that the Yankees had signed Chien-Ming Wang, but no details on the contract were released. Although we still don't know how much money CMW will make, we do know that it is a minor league contract, which is what I and others assumed anyway.

The team was looking for a veteran to add to the AAA starting rotation, and after an impressive showing in the World Baseball Classic in which he threw Wang threw 12 innings without giving up a run, they found their guy. With as much starting pitching depth as the team already has (Sabathia, Kuroda, Pettitte, Hughes, Nova, Phelps, Pineda) chances are small that we actually see Chien-Ming pitch for the Yanks, but as the old saying goes, "you can never have too much pitching". And with the way Spring Training has gone for hitters, I wouldn't be shocked if a few pitchers go down soon too.
