Derek Jeter is penciled in to play in another simulated game today but this time will run the bases for the first time since his calf injury landed him on the DL for the third time this season. The Yankees have a plan for Jeter but are not revealing that plan in any shape or form so we will just have to wait and see. That secrecy includes whether or not Derek will have to go on another rehab assignment this time around. No word on how he came through that but one would have to think that if he re-injured himself we would have heard something by now so I'm going to take the optimistic road and say that Derek should be back for the Tampa series this weekend. The realist in me though says the Yankees will hold him back until September call ups on September 1st.
