Nova bounces back after rough second inning to beat Blue Jays, 8-4

Ivan Nova gave up 4 earned runs in 6.1 innings of work this afternoon as the Yankees took the first game of this day-night double header over the Blue Jays, 8-4. Nova gave up all 4 of those runs in the second inning before finally getting on track, which allowed the Yankees to come back to win this one.

The Bombers two biggest hits of the game definitely came in the third and sixth innings, when Robinson Cano and Chris Stewart each hit three-run home runs. After the Pinstripes took the lead, they would score additional runs in the seventh and eighth innings to bring the score to what it would be after the final out was recorded. With this win, their record on the year is now 65-59, 6 games out of the AL Wild Card.
