David Aardsma has come all the way back from Tommy John surgery and hip surgery with a setback or two thrown in 2012. He has exhausted his 30 day rehab window in the minor leagues and now has no other options but to either get shut down or be called up since the minor league season is over. He was very shaky and showed obvious signs of rust but he got better with every rehab game, harnessed more and more control, and cleared every hurdle including the back to back games. He will not be used in any meaningful innings if I had to guess but it could not hurt to get him in and get him some confidence before next seasons spring training.
