I originally had David Phelps off of the 25 man roster and had Michael Pineda penciled in as a 4th or 5th starter but after the news of him being out until June or July I had to edit that.
That is only 33 spots on the 40 man filled leaving plenty of space to protect our minor leaguers from the Rule 5 Draft and to sign minor league depth in case of another injury epidemic.
*note that these are my opinions and not necessarily what I think will happen as much as I think what should happen.
Nice list. But Pineda will have to be put back on the 40 man once the WS is over I believe. As far as next season I think Eppley gets replaced with a better RP who can actually get LHB out and has the ability to work as a long man. None of the other RP's have that and a second LHP will probably also be out in the pen (Rapada). Cervelli's spot on the 40 man depends on how Romine is doing and if they keep stewart. But I would be surprised to find Cervelli on the 25 man roster unless an injury occurs. I believe he still has an option left.
ReplyDeleteOh I knew that Pineda would have to be put back on. I guess I should have specified that these were locks, in my eyes, going into the season.
