-- Curtis Granderson is going on the DL with a broken pinky bone. The Yankees are calling up Brennan Boesch to take Granderson's spot on the roster.
-- David Phelps is fine after a line drive hit him in his elbow. He has a bruise on his elbow but Phelps should be ready to go by his next start.
-- The New York Mets will honor Mariano Rivera on Tuesday before the game, which is one you don't want to miss: Hiroki Kuroda vs. Matt Harvey. A duel of aces.
Another great win. Mo has been amazing this year. A couple things.
ReplyDeleteHow about Montero getting sent to AAA. Pineda looks to be throwing well so far looking forward to seeing him in a real game in the minors though.
The Injuries are crazy this year. Granderson comes back for a week and then is gone just like that.
This team with out the "stars" has surprised everyone. Even C.C. hasn't been himself for the most part of the season.
David Adams has been doing an amazing job since being called up......
Tex and Youk look to be both in a week or two at the latest.

Good to hear from you Matt. It's been an interesting season. This team lacks the talent of some previous versions but has a lot of fight and motivation in it. There are a lot of guys fighting for jobs and I think it hows in the effort they give. There aren't a lot of guys on multi-year deals and all of the injuries are creating a lot of opportunities.
ReplyDeleteThe one constant has been the pitching. And as long as you have good pitching, you will always be in the game and have opportunities to come back and win close games.
This team is fun to watch as you get the feeling they are never out of a game a little but like the feling of the 2009 team. The difference is the 2009 team was on offensive juggernaut which this team is not.
