The Masahiro Tanaka sweepstakes, that on again and off again girlfriend a lot of us have had in our lifetimes, may be on again as soon as today. The Rakuten Golden Eagles have been going back and forth on whether to post their star starting pitcher and news broke that we may get an announcement, either way, on either Christmas Eve, today, or Christmas Day. Leave it to the Japanese to upstage a holiday for us.
Various travel problems and appearances have kept Tanaka from meeting with the Golden Eagles to finalize any kind of deal until yesterday reportedly and we are expecting some kind of announcement today. We may finally know today whether the Golden Eagles will take the $20 million from the Yankees for the 25 year old right handers services in pinstripes/
Stay tuned today as we will have it as soon as it breaks, unless Santa is here then it may be delayed.
