Yankee Stadium Legacy: #59 Lou Piniella (Again)


Lou Piniella was named the American League Rookie of the Year as a member of the Kansas City Royals in 1969. Piniella was traded to the New York Yankees before the 1974 season and continued his great play while in New York.  In his first season with the Yankees the oufielder put up a career high in hits with 158, runs with 71, and RBI's with 70. In 1984, his final season as a player and in pinstripes, he collected his fifth season with a .300 batting average for the Yankees.
