Masahiro Tanaka Placed On 15 Day DL

UPDATE:

Masahiro Tanaka has been placed on the 15 day DL with elbow inflammation. Damn. Chase Whitley is likely to start for him Sunday in Baltimore. Zoilo Almonte has been called up to the 25 man roster in the corresponding roster move.

Originally George A. King reported that Masahiro Tanaka was on his back to New York to get an MRI on his right arm. King has retracted that statement and now says that the MRI is for his right elbow. Somebody kill me, please kill  me now.

Tanaka, an All Star in his first season in the states with 12 wins and a 2.51 ERA, has been the Yankees saving grace. New York cannot ride out a Tanaka loss, this has the potential to be season changing.

    1. Not yet Mike. Let the team doctor take a look. If it's a quick 15 day thing with the All Star Break Tanaka only missed three starts tops, maybe just two with a couple extra days rest.

We can stay alive with just two starts, MAYBE three. Anymore than that and it's time to sell .

  2. Yeah, but that lineup can only hit till the 3rd inning.

I understand positive thinking thing you're getting at, but really? Elbow? Getting. The feeling this is goodbye till 2016 for Tanaka

    1. Lineup did a little better today, well Mark teixeira did.

Yes elbow, no mention of the ligament yet. Yankees being too cool about this, I'm worried.
