Moncada Cleared by MLB

And the New York Yankees are on the clock....

  1. ACCORDING TO FOX ....the Yankees are " actively pursuing "....James Shields.
I know there are a few ( hello Jeff ) that want no part of ' Big Name Shields ' ... Cleaver.

As for the rest....Shields was 14-8...3.21 ERA...227 innings last year.
In 2013...228 innings. In 2012...227 innings. An Irish Kuroda ?

Yes, the time is right to strike the anvil, and strike fear into the AL East.
Sign Moncada, and Shields, on the same day. Beers are on me. Declare a holiday.
Ship out Drew to the Mets, and Ryan to someone.....again the beers are on me.

    Sometimes life is so simple.

  2. I appreciate the offer of beers little p. Problem is I like my beer to taste like beer, and not amber colored water. Plus, if you buying me beers comes at the expense of signing Shields, I'll buy my own. Too many innings on that right arm to commit 4-5 years, and I wouldn't sacrifice the highest pick we've had in 22 years for a "pillow" contract. Shields is an innings eater that was broken down and tired by the time he reached the playoffs last season. That's a situation that will only get worse with age.

  3. Jeff....I must confess, that the very high draft pick escaped me. Good point on your part.

The amber colored water/ urine is subjective. My colored water is what guides my mojo.
I still think this season can be won, if true upper tier talent is added.
Moncada, and a sterling pitcher. The starting rotation is on Shake Street.

    1. That is my hang up as well. If it was the 30th pick I think I would be okay with it. Last I checked we had like the 17th pick... that's hard to pass up for Shields.

  4. I suggest a trade for a top tier pitcher. We're loaded with catching depth and even outfield. For somebody like Hamels, I would even include somebody like Refsnyder or Bird. Possibly both. Moncada, I agree. The Yankees need to throw as much money as they need to at him.

  5. By the way, I can't support your choice of beers because I work for a Budweiser distributor. People have actually gotten fired for drinking Coors! I kinda like my job.

    1. Especially after I called in to that Budweiser distributor and told them I had you on tape drinking Miller Lite after you disagreed with my prospect ranking :P

    2. JEFF LEVIN....enjoy your Budweiser, and your 401-K. Mine is Coors Light.

I too have a video, of you, from last week. When you drank all your Capt. Morgan....
Then drove down to 7-11, for a case of 7-11 Light. Remember that ?
I guess not. You vanished during that time period.

  6. It wasn't for a lack of trying little p. I tried, but couldn't log on. I thought Daniel finally had enough of me and banned me from the site!

  7. JEFF....no one would ban you from this site. You make Kenneth, and Dan, blink.
Your words are fine, and thoughts are true. Stay well.

    1. To be honest, and I shouldn't admit this in an open forum, I don't even know how to ban people or delete comments. I'm not a moderator at heart.... That's what makes this place special/different.

    2. Daniel, that takes all the fun out of it! Now that I know you don't know how to ban me, I may become myself and be the Devils Advocate more often!

    3. I'm a quick learner Mr. Reed........ LOL

    4. Oh, in that case I'll go back to being invisible, and get on with my bloviating! Writing much and not saying much! I like that! LOL

    5. You're alright in my book Mr. Reed. No one has ever read my book, mind you, but you're still in there if that counts for something.

    6. It does, Daniel...
As long as I can have fun and still give my opinion...be it from an older generation...I am having fun! And that my friend is saying a lot.
I like it here, we have good people on this site, unlike some of the others, where if you disagree you must be stupid, or a hater...none of which I nor anyone here is!

  8. ROCKET REED.....with what you gather on your trap lines, does that mean
you don't have to make as many trips to 7-11 for breakfast ?
Saving money over the winter, must allow Mrs. Reed to look at you with that
certain twinkle in her eye. Or, is it a twitch ?

    1. Hey Patrick, did you forget...I hibernate when temperatures go below 60 degrees! By the way, the Boss already has her Fur Coat, no need to run a trap line! Did you know there are different types of Mink? About 3 or 4 different types, just like diamonds...I always surmised a Mink was a Mink and a Diamond was a Diamond. Not on your life! Only the best of both will keep that certain Twinkle in her eye. You better know, that lady can tell...from across the room...the 3 "C's" of a diamond she sees!

    1. Go to bed Patrick, I have about 2 or 3 hours left in my day.

Sunday night my Hot water heater blew up and the sump pump couldn't keep up with it.......so, I ended up with about 2 inches of water in my basement. Before I discovered it (because of the dogs having a fit), it built enough moisture to blow the circuits.
I spent the whole week working with the people from Servpro. Had to replace the water heater, Microwave, Computer, Sliding glass doors to the deck, and that was the beginning.
But, as of today...all done with it! Time to have a very cold drink of milk and relax!

That is my week in review. Had a lot of fun with the guys, a couple were in Iraq for a tour or so.

    2. Things have been quiet around here this weekend.

    3. That is because Patrick is still recovering from his trip to the BIG Lake! Jeff is regrouping and I have been busy with a basement problem.
Question for you Daniel...what is your excuse! LOL

Of my 80+ big records, I only lost one Count Basie and two Sinatra records, so I am happy about that!
I found my old 2nd baseman's glove, and I do mean OLD...like maybe 30+ years or so old. The guys made fun of me because it was so small, I figure if they played baseball it had to be in the Outfield or in the last 10/15 years.
      Where is Yoan?

    4. My excuse is my son has been playing minecraft since Christmas. He got my wife playing it. Now I started playing it. I literally spent like six hours playing it yesterday off and on.... Yes I am a sad excuse of a person but I am OK with that.

  10. OH NO !...SHHHHHHHHHHH....I've done it again. Did I awaken anyone ?
Put your heads back down, little lambs. I worked all day, and ran home to talk. I'm sorry.

Kenneth lost his Burl Ives 33 RPM, Daniel is in Kardashian Lego World, and Jeff is locked-up
somewhere in Delaware. And, here's patrick barging in. Again, sorry.

The four of us adrift on a Yankee blog. Four is not such a big number.

Daniel....remember when you ' merged ' with Yankee Fans Unite ?
Why don't you e-mail them to muster up their forces, and come here and instruct ?
Use me as bait...tell them that patrick is just an idiot prick, and should be dispatched.
And to bring their long knifes, and also show you how to run a site.

They'll do it. They will add add 5-6 posters to the mix here. All talent anuses, are they.
You can find them...you can do everything. Tell them I'm dead.
