For the second time in as many nights the New York Yankees
and the Oakland Athletics will face off head-to-head inside Yankee Stadium. The
pitching matchups were advertised as great for the entire series and this game
should be no exception with the Yankees sending CC Sabathia to the mound to
face off with the A’s starter Scott Kazmir. The game will be played at 7:05 pm
ET and can be seen on the YES Network and MLB TV.
The Yankees have one more game tomorrow in the Bronx before
the team heads out to Fenway Park to pay a visit to David Ortiz and the Boston
Red Sox so that leaves you with one more opportunity to click the Yankees Tickets
link at the top of the blog and grab a pair of tickets to root for the home
team in the Bronx. If you can’t make it to the stadium live then that’s no
problem, simply jump on Twitter (@GreedyStripes) to interact with us during
each and every Yankees games.
I’m interested to see what Sabathia and Larry Rothschild
worked on this week so I’m going to get off here and watch the game. Go
Yankees!
KEY LIME DREW....After parts of two seasons, this is what you got.
ReplyDeleteMy numbers are really close...I lost my crib notes...sorry.
Remember the old, "if only I had a spring training" line? What crap.
Combine last season, this season, and a full spring training for Key Lime Drew, and what
do you have ?............570 AB / .169 BA. What a bitter desert !
Throw it in the garbage can.
The cast of non productive replacement characters have been as bad, or worse.
You want me to say Refsnyder ? Refsnyder !
Why the hell not ? Clean house, move forward.
Sabathia's pitching ? I hope I have enough cold Coors. The 'Revolver' should pitch every night.
God help us, from ourselves.
Funny you say that I have a nice little Refsnyder post going up tomorrow
ReplyDeleteYet another infielder getting a call up that's not named Refsnyder. I'm happy for Figueroa, but this is getting ridiculous. What does this organization have against Refsnyder? What more does he have to do? He has 13 errors on the season, but only 2 or 3 in the last month. His plate discipline is outstanding. He had 43 walks vs. 44 strikeouts. It doesn't get much better than that. Cashman is running out of excuses.
ReplyDeleteJEFF LEVIN........can not agree you more ! I think his time though, is getting closer. They may
ReplyDeletewant to find a buyer for Drew first.
Stay thirsty, my friend.
To be fair he was called up to temporarily replace Chase Headley... Refsnyder can't play third. They could have made it worked if they wanted to though. Petit can play third and so could Pirela. Oh well, would have to write another post for tomorrow rather than my Refsnyder rant if he got called up.
DeleteI understand who he's replacing, and had he already have been on the 40 man roster it would have made more sense to me. But Cashman had to designate Dugas for assignment to make room. Dugas will most likely clear waivers and be reassigned, but why would you make moves like that? Don't be fooled by Figueroa's numbers. He's a 27 year old career minor leaguer. He's Han's definition of a Punch and Judy hitter. If they needed an infielder, it should have been Refsnyder added. Drew or Petit could have played 3B. No excuses could or should be made.
ReplyDeleteI'm not defending the move, like I said you could get creative and even move Drew to third if you absolutely had to. He's hitting .500 in his last month of games I think I read which may explain it a bit but I truly just don't get it.
DeleteDREW IS TOXIC...Leave him in Boston, when they leave on Sunday. He is a jinx.
ReplyDeleteThat is where he came from, and most likely where he wants to play.
He will not be missed here, and then there will be no excuses to correct second base.
On the old sailing ships, when people were smarter, they would have thrown Drew, and
his Boston jinx overboard.
Three more days until the 'Revolver' starts spitting lead again. That's good.
