Merry Christmas from The Greedy Pinstripes!

Merry Christmas from everyone here at The Greedy Pinstripes! It's been a heck of a year, at least for me, and truth be told I'm surprised I made it this far. The blog has done well, my baby boy turned two years old and my oldest boy started school. A lot has changed in my routine and a lot has changed in my life but I truly think its all been for the better. We made it though, and that's all that matters.

As we wake up this morning we see that Santa has been good to us this year, probably better than we deserve. We are truly blessed and we appreciate everything in our lives and everything we get from this blog. We have some of the best commentators, Twitter followers, readers, followers and fans. I've said it a million times but I only say it because I mean it. We are NOTHING without you guys and girls. Thank you, I truly mean that.

Merry Christmas everyone! If you don't celebrate Christmas then Happy Holidays! No matter what you believe or what you celebrate we still appreciate your support and wish you nothing but the best this year and next.

  1. The best to all of you, at this time of year.

I'm no angel, and I was ready to apologize to the site for my behavior in mixing it up with another poster.........things happen. It was not the end of the world ? Just a back, and forth. Stupid words.

For whom ever Hans is, he was a quality / there everyday poster, and
you drove him away. Like quality posters grow on trees.

What are you left with to fill the ranks ?
The dumbest thing I have ever witnessed.
I have watched what has stepped brought forward to fill his shoes...Jesus..the result is low end blather. You know it.

It took so much work to make him resurface, and you trashed him the first chance you had. Drove him out of town on a rail.
I don't care what is said of me, but what was done here was idiotic.
You want to build a site on sand stone ?..or, true substance ?

What I watched transpire here was so awfully wrong. Two people jumping
on a high level poster, and what has that left you ?....silence ?

    1. I drove him away? I'm assuming this was directed towards me. I trashed him the first chance I had because I didn't want new and potential posters seeing him call you a pussy and you make fun of where he lives.

I love you and respect you patrick but if anyone drove him away, and drove yourself away apparently, it was you. Not I.

    2. Patrick, Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you and yours.
You and I have "been there and done that" crap, you more than me but, in this case, it all boiled down to the two of you!
Nobody else was involved in the back and forth except you and Hans. I can't speak for anyone but myself...but, you are my pal and we have never pulled any punches with each other! I would love to have both of you back here commenting again. As for Hans...he is always wrong or maybe I am but who really cares. Many times we throw things out there just to see what others think about what we posted or just to play devils advocate.

It is getting into a good time of baseball...trading and spring training. Get back here both of you!

  2. MY TWO POINTS ARE...Daniel & Kenneth, are as follows.

I do not know who Hans is. Perhaps a voice from the past, or maybe
he is Hans. Who knows ?
I believe I apologized to the site, if not, I am now.

Point one...Hans enjoyed having his state of New Jersey made fun of.
He would run to Daniel screaming over a NJ Turn Pike reference, or anything else related to that chemical saturated state. He ran with it.
It was funny, and great theater. To read any more into it than that,
    is nonsense.

Point two...The main one...his exit was handled wrong. That is my complaint.
He was put off, hammered, and double teamed the morning he deleted his remarks, and left. I watched in awe...what are they doing ? Check your archives.
He was wrong also, and most likely would have apologized also, if
given the chance....A chance he never got. He was man handled.

It was handled incorrectly. He was driven out of here on a rail.
Check your own words from that day...Words don't lie.

The site was stronger/better .....than it is know.
Differing thoughts, and personalities are what separate great sites
    from the also rans.

That's what happened, and that is how I see it.

  3. My words ran him off? I believe he made a sailor blush with his language and I asked all parties to stop or I would simply shut the comments section down until cooler heads prevailed.

Hans did apologize and he deleted his remarks on his own. No one pushed him away and no one asked him to leave. Nor did anyone want him to leave. Same goes for you.

You think it was handled wrong but that's not fair to me. Many asked, no one more than you specifically, for more posters here. I do everything I know to do and it finally starts working and that happens. Disagreeing is one thing, the personal attacks and vulgarity are another. No one wants to sign up to be berated. I'm damned if I do and damned if I don't.

Patrick you don't need to apologize. If it makes you feel better your apology is and always was accepted. I don't want your apologies, I just want you both back and both back.

  4. Guy's first happy holiday's to ALL of you. Second of all I came to this site to read some articles and saw the postings about what transpired over the course of the last few months. I want to outline my thought process as to why I say the things I say and the comments you guys say back.

I have no problem with anyone's opinion, I do have a problem with the constant attacks on me and what I call tag teaming. It feels like it is an attempt to run me off. I like to look at my posts as facts. As I have mentioned numerous times I like to go off the stats of a players baseball card. STATS don't lie contrary to some peoples belief. Can a player have an outrageous year and do well and revert back to their stats the answer is obviously yes. (Brady Anderson is one I like to use)

If you're a career 259 hitter over the course of 5 or 6 seasons then that's what you are. I have had heated debates with Levin on Gardner and I again believe that what I say about Gardner being a punch and judy hitter that is a bi-product of Yankee Stadium with his HR total is not only true in my opinion but FACTUAL.

I don't think Eovaldi is a top flight pitcher and I have made my case on that as well. Should I have kept calling him the WP after Patrick called him the revolver...I don't know. Do I think he will produce the same win's he did last year... my opinion NO. Will I be correct on that, only time will tell.

Do I like being attacked for living in NJ? NO I don't. Do I like being told I belong in Credemore, the answer is NO. Should I curse or name call on here the answer again is NO. Will I sit idle when attacked the answer is again NO. Did I spew venom against some people on here the answer is YES, did some of you do the same to me the answer is YES.

My points are all valid. Is my spelling atrocious some times, YES it is as I don't always re-read what I write and the automatic spell check corrects words that it thinks I really mean, when I really don't.

Do I like to discuss baseball on here with all of you? YES I do. Have I apologized to everyone on here more than once? YES I have. I do agree with Patrick on his comment about being run off this site, however it entails all of you. That's how I feel about it and nothing anyone of you can say will change my mind about it, just as I am sure there are things on here that I have done to piss each of you off.

Not one of us is innocent of this including my self. I am not going to apologize again for my behavior or comments as I have been there and done that. That being said I would like to chalk this up to being a group of opinionated people who all feel strongly in their belief system. I AGAIN say lets talk baseball and only baseball. If that can be achieved I think each of us will have fun in disagreeing and as god knows you all disagree with me so that is nothing new to me.
I truly wish each and everyone of you a HAPPY & HEALTHY NEW YEAR. Burch your article on George visiting my house was GREAT and yes I have cancelled my season tickets as of now for what Hal has done to this team

    1. May I be so humble as to be one of the first to welcome you back Ken H? Yoe and I are never going to agree on most things...so what, that wouldn't make it fun nor give a different view on a subject...get into the swing and your apology was not necessary at all.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and yours!

    2. Hans

You are correct in saying no one is innocent. I probably handled things incorrectly. It truly does piss me off and more so hurts my feelings when I go out of my way to do something (in this case bring more posters to the comments section) only to see me take one step forward and two steps back. I'm not one to waste my time and that's how it felt. I reacted, I apologize to both you and patrick if I handled things the wrong way.

I've said it multiple times, my intention is to not run ANYONE off the site. Also, again I've reiterated this numerous times, I don't feel like I tag teamed with anyone. I am as passionate as you are and I will do whatever to "prove" my point for lack of a better word. Do I change my mind? Sure, I guess that makes me a hypocrite that plays both sides. I call it running off at the mouth before my brain has long enough to process it, also known in my family as passion. Passion for my writing and passion for this team.

It's all water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned. You guys are like my second family, some days (as sad as this is) I talk with you guys more than my own family. Between work, bed times, etc. it happens. I don't wanna fight, let's put it behind and let's build forward with it.

      Hug it out gents.

    1. Just be yourself and be respectful, as you would have him and us to be with you. Nothing out landish.
Hopefully (If he has it, here in NY) for a long time.
      Sleep well Patrick!

    2. Patrick I think if you need to decide how to answer any of my posts then just don't respond to them. It always seems that any response I make will be slammed anyway so what better way not to get into any heated debates then not answer my posts, Now you can put the manual away.

  9. It depends on if he is suspended little p. If he is suspended for longer than 45 days, not games, he will not be eligible for free agency after 2016 and will be a Yankee in 2017 as well.

If he isn't suspended or only suspended for say 25 games he will be a free agent after this season. Which. Is fine because we gave up basically nothing for him and we get a draft pick after he declines a qualifying offer.

    2. Daniel, I would but, what else is there to do? Actually, I make work around the house and yard just to have something to do, I'm not good at sitting around doing nothing.

Being optimistic here but I can get season tickets through you, right? IF they do well this year, I may buy one for 2017...now that is being very optimistic at my young age! LOL
