Game Preview: New York Yankees vs. Toronto Blue Jays 9/29

Good morning ladies and gentleman and welcome to the final weekend of the 2017 MLB regular season. Three games left before the postseason, three games before the Yankees play host to the Minnesota Twins in the AL Wild Card Game. Three games before the stats are wiped clean and the last 162 games of the season don’t matter anymore. Three. More Games. In the start this afternoon, while we are on that note does anyone else think it’s weird to be played at Friday afternoon game in the Bronx today, the Yankees will send Masahiro Tanaka to the mound for his final tune-up before the postseason while the Blue Jays will counter with Joe Biagini.

Tanaka has struggled in two of his last three outings which, in the words of Yankees manager Joe Girardi, is not what you want heading into the playoffs. Tanaka struggled against the Rangers and these Toronto Blue Jays in those two starts including a three home run game against the Jays inside the Rogers Centre on September 22.

Biagini has been consistently inconsistent all season long so no one, not even Joe himself, knows what to expect out of him this afternoon in the Bronx. In Biagini’s last start the Jays starter allowed three runs in five innings of work with four walks scattered in and if he does that against the Yankees this afternoon it will likely be another victory for New York.

The game will be played at 1:05 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium and can be seen on the YES Network, MLB Network and MLB TV. You can also follow along in your cars and on the radio by tuning into the WFAN broadcast with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. Enjoy the game, need a win so get three more wins and stay red hot for the postseason. Go Yankees!

Game Thread: New York Yankees @ Toronto Blue Jays 9/23

In the middle game of this three game set the Yankees will send Sonny Gray to the mound to face off with Joe Biagini for the Blue Jays. The game will be played at 4:07 pm ET inside Rogers Centre and can be seen on the YES Network, MLB Network and MLB TV. Enjoy the game!

Game Preview: New York Yankees @ Toronto Blue Jays 9/23

The New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays will continue their three-game weekend set today with the middle game of the series inside the Rogers Centre, eh. In the middle contest the New York Yankees will send Sonny Gray to the mound to square off with Joe Biagini for the Blue Jays. No matter where the Blue Jays or the Yankees are in the standings these two teams always seem to bring their “A” games against one-another so expect a fun contest today between these two clubs. Enjoy the game.

Gray had probably his worst start as a Yankee last time out giving up five runs and six hits in just four innings of work against the Baltimore Orioles in a loss. Gray had been great for New York up until that last start posting a 2.66 ERA in eight starts for the Bombers so it’s probably best that he get that inevitable one bad start out of the way now rather than in October.

Biagini has been consistently inconsistent for the Blue Jays so who knows what the Blue Jays will get out of him this afternoon in Toronto. Biagini could not make it out of the second inning in his last start allowing six runs, although in the start prior Biagini tossed a career-high eight innings against the Orioles. Does that mean Biagini will be dominant once again today against the Yankees? I hope not.

The game will be played at 4:07 pm ET inside the Rogers Centre in Toronto and can be seen on the YES Network, MLB Network and MLB TV. You can also follow along in your cars and on the radio by tuning into the WFAN broadcast with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. Need a win, clinch a spot, and get a win. Go Yankees!!!

Game Preview: New York Yankees @ Toronto Blue Jays 6/3

Aaaaaand we're back inside the Rogers Centre just hours after the last time the Yankees were inside the Rogers Centre. Who doesn't love the Saturday day game after the Friday night game? Expect to see some Yankees regulars sitting this afternoon as these two teams square off for the third time in their four-game weekend set. In this afternoon's contest the New York Yankees will send Jordan Montgomery to the mound to face off with the Blue Jays starter Joe Biagini.

Montgomery is coming off possibly the worst start of his short MLB career, the shortest outing as well. In his last start Montgomery threw 100 pitches but lasted just 4.1 innings which was compounded by going deep into counts continually. Pitch to contact Jordan and you should be just fine.

Biagini is a rookie start for the Blue Jays who reached six innings pitched for the first time in his career last time out. In the start Biagini also reached a new career high in pitches thrown with 95 while allowing just two runs. This will be Biagini's sixth start of his MLB career and will no longer be held back by pitch counts and such.

The game will be played at 1:07 pm ET inside Rogers Centre and can be seen on the YES Network, MLB Network and MLB TV. You can also follow along in your cars and on the radio by tuning into John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman on WFAN.

Enjoy the game and what's left of your Saturday and weekend. As always.... Go Yankees!
