Game Preview: New York Yankees @ Houston Astros 4/10
The New York Yankees and the Houston Astros will finish
their three-game set this week in the heart of Texas with the finale of their
series. For the finale, the Yankees will send James Paxton to the mound to face
off with Collin McHugh for the Astros. The Yankees have an off-day tomorrow
before traveling to Chicago to face off with the White Sox, so let’s get to it
here in Houston so the team can get the hell out of here.
Paxton faced the Astros four times in 2018 as a member of
the Seattle Mariners, posting a 4-0 record with a 2.05 ERA. Career against the
Astros, Paxton is 7-3 with a 2.89 ERA in 12 starts, so it’s safe to say that
Paxton has done well against Houston throughout his career.
McHugh has been incredible inside Minute Maid Park
throughout his career, posting a 5-0 record with a 1.18 ERA over his last eight
starts there. McHugh was tough in his last start as well, limiting the Oakland
Athletics to just one run on three hits.
The game will be played at 7:40 pm ET inside Minute Maid
Park in Houston and can be seen on the YES Network, MLB Network and MLB TV. You
can also follow along with the game on the radio with the WFAN broadcast of John
Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. Enjoy the game and go Yankees!!

Game Preview: New York Yankees @ Houston Astros 4/9
The New York Yankees and the Houston Astros will continue
their three-game set out west in the heart of Texas. In the middle game of this
three-game set the Yankees will send their top pitching prospect Jonathan Loaisiga
to the mound to face off with the one who got away, Gerrit Cole for the
Astros. Tonight, we have a little bit of a later start for us on the East
Coast, so let’s get to it here in Houston.
Loaisiga took a no-decision in his first start of the
season, limiting the Detroit Tigers to just one hit in four innings of work.
This will be the first time that Loaisiga has faced the Astros in his career
and this will be the second start of the season for the Yankees top pitching
prospect.
Cole has been the tough luck loser in both of his starts
already this season, posting an 0-2 record with just a 3.00 ERA and 19
strikeouts. Let’s hope the third time is not the charm tonight for Cole and the
Astros.
The game will be played at 8:10 pm ET inside Minute Maid
Park in Houston and can be seen on the YES Network locally and ESPN nationwide.
You can also follow along with the game on WFAN with John Sterling and Suzyn
Waldman. You can also follow along on MLB TV, where I will be watching the game

Game Thread: New York Yankees @ Baltimore Orioles 4/4
Game seven of the 2019 season will showcase this year’s
version of the New York Yankees out on the road for the first time this season.
This afternoon in the Orioles home opener the Yankees will send James Paxton to the
mound to face off with Alex Cobb for the Orioles. The game will be played at 3:05 pm
ET inside Oriole Park at Camden Yards and can be seen on the YES Network
locally, MASN in the Baltimore/DC area, and on MLB TV wherever you and your

and Suzyn Waldman. Enjoy the game and go Yankees!!
Game Preview: New York Yankees @ Baltimore Orioles 4/4
The New York Yankees have enjoyed the friendly confides of
Yankee Stadium thus far this season, but the team will head out on the road for
their first road game today in Baltimore. In the Orioles home opener this
afternoon, the Yankees will send James Paxton to the mound to face off with Baltimore’s
starter Alex Cobb. These are not games the Yankees can afford to give away, no matter
how early in the season it is, so let’s get to it here in Baltimore.
Paxton was great in his first start of the season against the Orioles, but the Yankees offense could not score enough to get Big Maple the victory. The team will look to do much better this afternoon against Cobb and the Orioles.
Cobb will make his season debut this afternoon for Baltimore after missing Opening Day with an injury that he sustained in his last start of spring training.
The game will be played at 3:05 pm ET inside Oriole Park at
Camden Yards and can be seen on the YES Network locally, MASN in the Baltimore/DC
area, and on MLB TV wherever you and your device are. You can also follow along
with the game on WFAN with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. Enjoy the game and

Game Thread: New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers 4/3
Game six of the young 2019 campaign will be an afternoon
game in the Bronx between the New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers. In the finale
of this three-game set inside Yankee Stadium the Yankees will send Jonathan Loaisiga to the
mound to face off with Matthew Boyd of the Tigers. The game will be played at
4:05 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and can be seen on the YES
Network and MLB Network. You can also follow along with the game on MLB TV and
on WFAN with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. Enjoy the game and go Yankees!!
Game Preview: New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers 4/3
The New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers will finish off
their three-game set this week in the Bronxc with the rubber match this
afternoon. In the finale the Yankees will send --- to the mound to face off
with Matthew Boyd for the Tigers. These are not must-win games for the Yankees,
but these have the potential to be games you look back at in September and
October and wish you had, so let’s get to it here in the Bronx.
Loaisiga will make his season debut for CC Sabathia, the veteran Yankees lefty that served a five-game suspension before being placed on the 10-Day injured list to start the season. Good luck, Johnny Lasagna.
Boyd is a fly-ball pitcher. Mix that in with the fact that
the ball travels inside Yankee Stadium, especially during the day, and this
could make for a long day for the Tigers left-hander. Boyd allowed three runs
on five hits in six innings of work in his last start in the Bronx in
September, including two home runs allowed. Boyd did not pitch well in his
first start of the season, a loss against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The game will be played at 4:05 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium
in the Bronx and can be seen on the YES Network and MLB Network. You can also
follow along with the game on MLB TV and on WFAN with John Sterling and Suzyn
Waldman. Enjoy the game and go Yankees!!

Game Thread: New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers 4/2
The time has come, it is game time here in the Bronx between
the New York Yankees and the Detroit Tigers. Game Five of the young 2019 season
for the New York Yankees, let’s get to it. The Yankees will send Masahiro
Tanaka to the mound to face off with Jordan Zimmermann for the Tigers. The game
will be played at 6:35 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium in the Bronx and can be seen
on the YES Network. You can also follow along with the game on MLB TV and on
WFAN with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. Enjoy the game and, as always, go
Yankees!!
Game Preview: New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers 4/2
The New York Yankees have been through the rotation once,
technically, and will turn the rotation over for the first time tonight here in
the Bronx. In the middle game of their three-game set with the Detroit Tigers,
the Yankees will send Masahiro Tanaka to the mound for his second start of the
young season. Opposing Tanaka will be Jordan Zimmermann who was almost
unhittable in his first start of the season. It should be an interesting
matchup to say the least, so let’s get to it here in the Bronx.
Tanaka ripped the Opening Day monkey off his back here in
2019, limiting the Baltimore Orioles to just two runs, one of them earned, over
six hits in 5.2 innings pitched. The Yankees won the game while Tanaka became
the first Yankees starter to record at least five strikeouts without a walk on
Opening Day snice Catfish Hunter.
Zimmermann was equally as strong on Opening Day in Toronto
against the Blue Jays, pitching 6.2 perfect innings before giving up a hit.
Zimmermann has pitched well inside of Yankee Stadium lately including a streak
of 12 innings without giving up a run over the last two seasons.
The game will be played at 6:35 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium
in the Bronx and can be seen on the YES Network. You can also follow along with
the game on MLB TV and on WFAN with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. Enjoy the game
and, as always, go Yankees!!

Opening Day Game Thread: Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees 3/28
Opening Day 2019. The lines have been drawn on the field,
the stadium is packed, the vendors are running their tails off, and the players
are on the field. Let’s do this!!!!! In the start this afternoon the Yankees
will send Masahiro Tanaka to the mound to face off with Andrew Cashner for the
Orioles. The game will be played at 1:05 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium in the
Bronx and can be seen on the YES Network, ESPN and MASN 2 in the Baltimore area.
You can also follow along with the game on MLB TV and on WFAN with John Sterling
and Suzyn Waldman.
Enjoy the game. Go Yankees!!
Opening Day Game Preview: Baltimore Orioles @ New York Yankees 3/28
It’s here, it’s finally here, and we finally made it.
Opening Day 2019. The New York Yankees will begin their quest for the 2019
World Series Championship this afternoon in the Bronx against the Baltimore
Orioles. Game one, where everyone is in first place. The Yankees will start Masahiro
Tanaka this afternoon in the opener while the Orioles will counter with Andrew
Cashner.
Tanaka will make his fourth career Opening Day start for the
Yankees this afternoon after Luis Severino was not quite ready to start the
season due to a shoulder issue. Tanaka has not earned a victory in these
starts, posting an 0-2 record with a 9.49 ERA on Opening Day, so the Yankees,
and Tanaka specifically, will look for better results this afternoon in the
Bronx.
Cashner also makes the Opening Day start this afternoon due
to injury. Cashner will make his second career Opening Day start after the Orioles
learned that Alex Cobb could not make the start due to a strained right groin
that he suffered in his final spring training start. Cashner was 4-15 last
season with a 5.29 ERA.
The game will be played at 1:05 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium
in the Bronx and can be seen on the YES Network, ESPN and MASN 2 in the
Baltimore area. You can also follow along with the game on MLB TV and on WFAN
with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman.
Enjoy the game. Go Yankees!!

ALDS Game Thread: New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox
And just like that it is game time here in the Bronx between
the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Rivalry renewed. ALDS renewed.
Game Four, let’s go. In the start tonight the Yankees will send CC Sabathia to
the mound in front of his home crowd to face off with Rick Porcello for the
Boston Red Sox. The game will be played at 8:07 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium and
can be seen on TBS. You can also follow along with the game on WFAN with John
Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. As much flak as Sterling and Waldman get from some
Yankees fans, at least they aren’t these TBS announcers, right?

ALDS Game Four Preview: New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox
The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will continue
the 2018 American League Division Series tonight with the fourth game of the
best-of-five series. Backs are against the wall, tensions are high, and it is
win or go home for one of these teams. Every game is a must-win for the Yankees
in the postseason no matter what the scoreboard says, so let’s get it done and
let’s get to it here in the Bronx.
Sabathia will make his 23rd career postseason
starts and his first against the Boston Red Sox in the playoffs since October
of 2007. Sabathia has not been great against Boston this year during the
regular season, but this is the second season and none of that matters now. 162
games for nothing.
Porcello won 17 games for the Red Sox during the regular
season and has already seen New York once during this ALDS after pitching out
of the bullpen in Game One. Porcello has not pitched well in the postseason for
Boston posting a 7.56 ERA in his first two postseason starts for the Red Sox.
The game will be played at 8:07 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium
and can be seen on TBS. You can also follow along with the game on WFAN with
John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. As much flak as Sterling and Waldman get from
some Yankees fans, at least they aren’t these TBS announcers, right?
Enjoy the game, VICTORY, and go Yankees!!

ALDS Game Two Thread: New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox
And just like that it is game time here inside Boston’s
historic Fenway Park as the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox continue
the 2018 American League Division Series. In the second game of this best-of-five
game series the Yankees will send Masahiro Tanaka out to the mound to face off
with David Price for the Red Sox. The game will be played at 8:15 pm ET inside
Fenway Park and can be seen on TBS. You can also follow along with the game on
WFAN with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman all postseason long.

ALDS Game Two Preview: New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox
The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will continue
the American League Division Series tonight inside historic Fenway Park with
the second game of this best-of-five series. In the start tonight the Yankees
will send Masahiro Tanaka out to the mound to face off with David Price for the
Red Sox. Tanaka is out for Red Sox blood while Price is just merely looking to
survive. It should be a fun one, so let’s get to it here in Boston.
Tanaka struggled in each of his last two starts before the
end of the season, but tonight the right-hander heads into Fenway Park on extra
rest. Tanaka gave up eight runs in eight innings pitched combined in his last
two starts to post an ugly 9.00 ERA. Tanaka has been a much better pitcher in
the postseason though boasting a career 1.44 ERA in four career playoff starts.
Price was great in the second half of the 2018 season
posting a 6-1 record with a 2.25 ERA in 11 starts after the All-Star Break. The
one blip on the radar? A start against the Yankees on September 19 inside
Yankee Stadium that saw the left-hander allow six runs in 5.1 IP of work. Price
also pitched against the Yankees on August 5th inside Fenway Park
and allowed two runs in six innings of work in a no-decision. Price has a
career 5.03 ERA in the postseason.
The game will be played at 8:15 pm ET inside Fenway Park and
can be seen on TBS. You can also follow along with the game on WFAN with John
Sterling and Suzyn Waldman all postseason long.
Enjoy the game, LOL David Price, and go Yankees!!

ALDS Game One Thread: New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox
And just like that it is game time here in the Bronx between
the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. The American League Division
Series officially begins tonight. In the opener of the best-of-five series the
Yankees will send JA Happ to the mound to face off with the Red Sox ace, Chris
Sale. The game will be played at 7:32 pm ET (only in Boston could see such a
weird start time, but okay) and can be seen on TBS. You can also follow along
on the radio with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman on WFAN.
Follow us on Twitter, @GreedyStripes, and “Like” us on
Facebook, The Greedy Pinstripes, to keep up with us and the New York Yankees
for the remainder of the postseason. Enjoy the game, get to Sale early in the
first, and go Yankees!!
ALDS Game One Preview: New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox
The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will kick off
the American League Division Series tonight inside historic Fenway Park. The
Boston Red Sox won a whopping 108 games here in 2018 while the New York Yankees
finished with 100 victories on the nose which should make for an intense
five-game matchup. In the opener of the series the Yankees will send JA Happ to
the mound looking to once again neutralize the Red Sox while Boston will
counter with their ace, Chris Sale. It’s the playoffs, baby, so let’s get to it
here in chowdah town.
Happ was held back from the American League Wild Card Game because
of the possibility of him pitching against the Boston Red Sox twice in a
potential five-game series. Manager Aaron Boone went with the long game
strategy with his decision to pitch Luis Severino on Wednesday night and thus
far it has worked according to plan. The first of Happ’s two potential ALDS
matchups with the Red Sox comes tonight inside Fenway Park.
Sale was great against the Yankees in two starts this season
against New York allowing just one run with 19 strikeouts in a combined 13
innings pitched. That was the regular season though and all that, plus about
$15, will get you inside Fenway Park tonight is a beer to wash away your
sorrows. Sale has pitched twice in the ALDS as a member of the Red Sox and has
lost each of those games last season against the Houston Astros.
The game will be played at 7:32 pm ET inside Fenway Park and
can be seen on TBS. You can also follow along with the game on WFAN with John
Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. Please, for the love of God and everything that is
holy, do NOT let Dennis Eckersley and that same crew that announced the AL Wild
Card Game to announce tonight. Please, I beg.
Enjoy the game, remember that Chris Sale has a career 8.38
ERA and that Mookie Betts has just as many postseason RBI as you or I do, and
go Yankees!!

Game Thread: New York Yankees vs. Oakland Athletics
And just like that playoff baseball has returned to us all
and returned to the Bronx, New York as the New York Yankees and Yankee Stadium
play host to the Oakland Athletics. One game to decide a season. One game to
decide the fate of both clubs. One game to decide it all. The Yankees will send
Luis Severino to the mound with the pressure of protecting Yankee Stadium and
continuing their season while the Athletics will send Liam Hendriks to the
mound looking to play the spoiler. Neither team wants to go home and neither
team wants their seasons to end here, but which team wants it just a little
more? Let’s find out.
The game will be played at 8:00 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium
in the Bronx and can be seen on TBS.
Follow us on Twitter, @GreedyStripes, and “Like” us on
Facebook, The Greedy Pinstripes, to keep up with us and the New York Yankees
all season long. Enjoy the game, put up a five-spot in the first inning, and go
Yankees!!
Game Preview: New York Yankees vs. Oakland Athletics
The New York Yankees and the Oakland Athletics will kick off
the American League Wild Card Playoff Round and the 2018 American League Postseason
tonight in the Bronx. Get excited. Whether you believe this is a playoff game
or not is irrelevant as the 2018 postseason officially kicks off tonight to
everyone who makes those decisions and to everyone whose opinion matters, so
leave your negative thoughts about the contest at the door. The second season
has begun, let’s get to it.
In the game tonight the Yankees have named Luis Severino as
their Wild Card Game starter while the Athletics have decided to counter the
Yankees right-hander with Liam Hendriks.
Severino will start his second consecutive Wild Card Game at
Yankee Stadium hoping for better results in this start than his last. Severino
was knocked out in the first inning against the Minnesota Twins in the 2017
American League Wild Card Game after allowing three runs on two home runs in an
eventual Yankees come-from-behind victory. None of that tonight. Nothing but
zeroes, please and thanks. Severino, a 24-year old right-hander, was 19-8 this
season with a 3.39 ERA and 220 strikeouts, although the righty was 14-2 at the
All-Star Break before a second half collapse of sorts.
Hendriks has been a relief pitcher for the Athletics here
in 2018, but he is no stranger to the life of a starting pitcher. Hendricks has
seen his season ride a roller coaster after being designated for assignment and
clearing waivers in June, only to come back and start the biggest game to date
for the Athletics here in 2018. Hendricks, a 29-year old right-hander, was 0-1
with a 4.13 ERA in 25 appearances this season,
The game will be played at 8:00 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium
in the Bronx and can be seen on TBS.
Enjoy the game, win the game or go home… and I am not ready
to go home just yet, and for the love of God… go Yankees!!
