Both Brett Gardner and David Aardsma were activated tonight off the 60 day DL as late season reinforcements for the Yankees post season push. Steve Pearce and Justin Thomas were designated for assignment to make room for the two on the 40 man roster. I fully expected Cory Wade and Derek Lowe to get the ax but I guess with Mark Teixeira progressing well and the need for pitching outweighs the need for first basemen depth.

Both Brett Gardner and David Aardsma were activated tonight off the 60 day DL as late season reinforcements for the Yankees post season push.
