Clay Rapada has been released by the Yankees, a sign that he cleared waivers. Rapada was Designated For Assignment on Sunday. Although the Yankees had to make a move like that in order to make room on the 40-man roster, Rapada's shoulder bursitis as well as the Yankees' depth at a left-handed specialist, made Clay expendable.
No word on whether or not the Yankees are interested in re-signing Rapada to a minor league deal.
