Teixeira hopes to get clearance to swing a bat tomorrow and take on field BP by the Toronto series. Then extended spring games after that

I know somebody that is not excited about this news what-so-ever... Lyle Overbay.
Overbay has appeared in 8 games this season, 7 as the starting first baseman. Although one of his 7 hits was a home run against the Indians on Monday (not a very exclusive club), that doesn't mask a poor batting line of .250/.276/.429. Mind you, the sample size leading to that triple-slash only includes 29 plate appearances, but Lyle did only hit .259/.331/.397 in 131 plate appearances last season.
So it looks like Overbay is going to find himself without a job the day Mark Teixeira is ready to return to the Yankees' lineup.
