This Day In Yankees History 4/13

On Opening Day of the 1978 season Yankees slugger Reggie Jackson hit a three run home run against the Chicago White Sox. This is significant because this is the fourth consecutive home run that Reggie hit if you include the three home run game that clinched the 1977 World Series victory.

On this day in 2008 construction workers dug up a tattered David Ortiz Red Sox jersey out of the concrete that was laid for the New Yankees Stadium. This was an attempt to curse the Yankees but it obviously did not work because we won the World Series that next season.
