Derek Jeter ran the bases today and took some fielding drills while trying to get back this weekend for the Tampa Rays series. Jeter states that he still feels no pain and is ready to go but Joe Girardi doesn't seem sold yet. I do not know what the hell is wrong with Girardi but if Jeter says he is ready to go then you put him in there so what is he waiting for?
If Jeter does not come back this weekend the next five games for the Yankees are in National League cities which means we will not have a designated hitter. Jeter is likely to be eased into the lineup splitting time between the field and the DH spot so he may be another week away if he isn't ready this weekend.
