Injury Update For Brett Gardner & Yangervis Solarte

The New York Yankees will host the Seattle Mariners tonight and will need all hands on deck and got some good news yesterday on both Brett Gardner and Yangervis Solarte. Both players were held out of Sunday's finale against the Angels simply to give each two days of rest for their nagging injuries and both are expected to be back in the lineup tonight in the Bronx.

Gardner fouled a ball off his foot and had an X-ray that came back negative. Gardner was very optimistic about the foot and said it felt better Sunday than he expected it to. It is likely that Gardner could have played Sunday if need be but the Yankees seem to be cautious, which is never a bad thing.

Solarte was held out of the game due to a sore shoulder after a diving play over the weekend. Solarte had tests on the shoulder and everything came back clean and negative. Another cautious move by Girardi it looks like. Solarte is expected to be in the lineup or available off the bench tonight.

Now that we are closer to 100% let's beat those Seattle Cano's.
