Preview: New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox 4/13

The New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox will complete their four game weekend set at Yankee Stadium tonight as a part of ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball telecast. The Yankees will send Ivan Nova to the mound to face off with Felix Doubront a day before the Yankees first off day of the season. All arms should be on deck for this one with the off day tomorrow except for Derek Jeter who got the day off yesterday afternoon in a Yankees win because of a tight quad.

Nova has struggled his two starts this season and has battled surviving without a curveball in Houston and was crushed by the Baltimore Orioles in his second start. The Orioles pounded Nova for seven runs in that start and evened up his season record at 1-1 so New York is hoping for a bounce back tonight against Boston.

Doubront gave up six hits, five walks, and three runs over just 2.2 IP against the Texas Rangers in his last start. Doubront has a 3-2 record with a lifetime 4.17 ERA against the New York Yankees so the Bronx Bombers hope to keep the bats going against Doubront tonight and get out of the series with a win.

Go Yankees!!

  1. What we need tonight is "Ivan the Great" not a rehash of "Ivan the Terrible"! We are not playing a high school team here, so let's get everything working together, gloves, running, pitching and hitting.
I think that should be enough to win...what say you all? lol

  2. I was playing RBI Baseball 14 last night and Ivan Nova pitched 8 IP of shut out ball with 6 K's... well I did with him but I digress... so that's my prediction for Nova tonight
