As reported yesterday Masahiro Tanaka will throw a 25 pitch bullpen session today as he gets on the mound for the first time since partially tearing his ulnar collateral ligament. This will be the true test for Tanaka for whether he will be able to come back and contribute this season or not. If Tanaka comes through the 25 pitches off a mound without any pain or stiffness then the possibility is still there. If not, Tommy John surgery becomes more and more likely. This is a big day and a big step for Yankees fans and Tanaka.
