Game Thread: New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays 4/24

The New York Yankees and the Tampa Bay Rays are on the field and they are ready to finish off their three-game set this weekend in the Bronx. Michael Pineda has taken the mound, the Rays batters are ready to hit and Drew Smyly is sitting in the dugout ready to face the Yankes offense in the bottom of the inning. The Rays offense is weak and Michael Pineda has done well against them in his career so I have a good feeling about this game and this series win. The game will be played at 1:05 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium and can be seen on the YES Network and MLB TV.

The Yankees head out on the road to Arlington tomorrow for a little road trip so Yankee Stadium gets a bit of a break for a while. Unfortunately many of us cannot see the Yankees live but that doesn't mean you can't get your Yankees Tickets by clicking the Yankees Tickets link at the top of the blog just to be ready for when the team returns to the Bronx. Until then though head over to Twitter and give @GreedyStripes a follow to interact with us and to live tweet each and every Yankees game this season.

Let's win a series and let's get out of New York without heads held high. Go Yankees!!

  1. I'm guessing kaprielan makes 1 more start before getting a move to Trenton. I turned on the game at the 5th inning, which I mean, is like 4 innings too late.

Now, I know you are concerned with Pineda, shoulder and he couldn't handle BP role. But 1 more start before nova gets a chance? Nothing in Scranton is pushing for an opportunity to start.

    2. Pineda isn't going to the pen. The Yankees will ride him out as long as possible because the stuff is there. He's got something going on, injury, mechanics, whatever. They need to find it and fix it, now. He looked so good this spring, now poof he's gone.

The only person Nova will replace will be either CC or Severino. The Yankees won't give Severino a long rope in my opinion. Pineda and Eovaldi they will.

Kaprielian can't come fast enough. Said no ex girlfriend ever.

    3. That last line was the clincher!
In my opinion, Severino is shaking McCann off and throwing what he wants to throw. I think he is to full of himself and believes, what got him here (in AAA) will work with the big boys...not so much!
I hate to see talent wasted, and he is doing that big time!
NEWS FLASH; Do whatever the catcher tells you to do on the mound, he is one hell of a lot better equipped to know the hitters than you are at this time.

    4. Especially when it's one that calls such a great game like McCann. That's no rookie out there, throw what McCann tells you to throw.

    5. Kaprielian on DL with elbow inflammation. Our guys and these freaking elbows, we're getting killed lol
