Luis Severino Returns To The Big Club

It's being reported that the Yankees have recalled Luis Severino from AAA.

There's no official word on what role Luis is being brought back to New York for, but it may be to replace Aroldis Chapman in the bullpen.

Of course, that doesn't mean Severino is the new closer, or is a new addition to the three headed monster. It could be a temporary move before the Brian Cashman makes some more changes, like... maybe... David Robertson?

  1. What are your thoughts on this...

Brian Cashman: “I have a green light to continue to do my job, which is to assess market values both coming and going.”

    Smoke screen or truth?

My Opinion: It should be the truth and the way it is done but, history tells me Cash is on a short rope!

    1. I believe it simply means he has other trade scenarios in mind. However, he's going to have to get Hal's approval to pull them off.

  2. For the record, I believe Servino's time in the bullpen is short. Maybe very short, as I think Severino will return as a starter once Warren arrives tomorrow.

  3. Severino is up for the same reason Chad Green was. A fresh arm in the bullpen that can go multiple innings if need be. Plus if he does well I think he sticks if/when Ivan Nova is traded.

    It's an audition.

  4. Severino has had trouble with command in the strike zone plus he needs good break on his off speed pitches this time.
