In the opener of the series the Yankees face a familiar foe and a tough opponent in Dallas Keuchel for the Astros while New York counters with Masahiro Tanaka. The game will be played at 8:00 pm ET inside Minute Maid Park and can be seen on Fox Sports One. You can also follow along in your cars and on the radio by tuning into either WFAN with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman or by turning on ESPN Radio.

ALCS Game One Preview: New York Yankees @ Houston Astros

Tonight the American League Championship Series takes center stage as the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros prepare to battle in a best-of-seven series. The winner heads to the World Series with an American League pennant in their hands while the loser goes home to lick their wounds and wonder all winter long what they could have done differently. The Yankees path to the ALCS has been a nerve racking one as all four of the team’s postseason wins have come with their backs at the elimination wall after winning the AL Wild Card Game against the Minnesota Twins and after winning three straight in the ALDS against the Cleveland Indians after getting down 0-2 in the best-of-five series. All the Houston Astros did was beat up on the Boston Red Sox and send the American League East Division champions home crying to their mommies inside Fenway Park, no biggie. Tonight is a new series though as the slates are wiped clean once again and in Game One the pitching matchup will be Masahiro Tanaka for the Yankees and Dallas Keuchel for the Astros.

Tanaka was dominant in his one ALDS start against the Cleveland Indians with the Yankees down 0-2 in the best-of-five series. Tanaka shut out the Indians in the start keeping the Yankees season alive while stealing a 1-0 victory at home.

Keuchel took the ball for the Astros in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Boston Red Sox and logged 5.2 innings pitched giving up just one run on three hits along the way. The Boston offense did draw three walks off the Houston left-hander but that was easily negated by Keuchel’s seven strikeouts in the Astros 8-2 victory at home. Keuchel has made three career postseason starts and owns a career 0.96 ERA including a victory against the Yankees in the 2015 AL Wild Card Game.

The game will be played at 8:00 pm ET inside Minute Maid Park and can be seen on Fox Sports One. You can also follow along in your cars and on the radio by tuning into the WFAN broadcast with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. You could always tune into ESPN Radio as well but honestly, why would you want to? That’s almost like watching a NESN or SNY broadcast with all their anti-Yankees bias. Defy the haters, silence the doubters, need a win so get a win and GO YANKEES!!!

ALDS Game 5 Thread: New York Yankees @ Cleveland Indians

No games. No bull. Let’s get to this and let’s get it done tonight in Cleveland. The New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians will play tonight in a winner-take-all Game 5 in the ALDS. Winner moves on to the ALCS to face off with the Houston Astros while the loser goes home licking their wounds and wondering what could have been. New York will send CC Sabathia to the mound tonight to face off with Corey Kluber for the Indians. The game will be played at 8:00 pm ET and can be seen on Fox Sports One. You can also follow along in your cars and on the radio by tuning into WFAN and ESPN Radio.

ALDS Game 5 Preview: New York Yankees @ Cleveland Indians

And it all comes down to this tonight as the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians play in a do-or-die, winner takes all Game 5 of the American League Division series. Let me start by saying damn, what a series. The Indians won both of their games at home to start the series while the Yankees came roaring back in games three and four to even the series setting up this series finale inside Progressive Field in Cleveland tonight. In the start tonight the Yankees will send CC Sabathia to the mound, undoubtedly with a short leash with a rested bullpen and Sonny Gray available, to face off with the Indians ace and perennial Cy Young Award candidate Corey Kluber. The Yankees got to Kluber in Game Two but there is no guarantee that lightning will strike twice again here in Cleveland. I mean it could though, so you have to watch.

Sabathia will take the ball tonight for the Yankees instead of Sonny Gray after pitching well for New York in Game 2 of this series in Cleveland. Sabathia lasted 5.1 innings in that start in a no-decision which kept his career playoff record at 9-5 with a 4.47 ERA in 20 games, 19 starts.

Kluber was not sharp in that same Game Two matchup yielding six runs in just 2.2 innings. Thankfully for the Indians the Cleveland offense picked up Kluber and got the victory allowing the right-hander to make the start tonight in front of his home field fans.

The game will be played at 8:05 pm ET inside Progressive Field in Cleveland, Ohio and can be seen on Fox Sports One. You can also follow along in your cars and on the radio by tuning into either the WFAN broadcast with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman or by tuning into ESPN radio. Need a win, get one more win and a free ticket to the ALCS. Go Yankees!!!

ALDS Game 2 Thread: New York Yankees @ Cleveland Indians

Need something to do on your commute home on this beautiful Friday afternoon? Turn on the radio and follow along with Game 2 of the American League Division Series because it starts here in just a few minutes. That’s one thing I am not a huge fan of in the early rounds of the postseason, these weird and earlier than normal start times, but it’s the playoffs and the Yankees are in them so I guess I can’t complain too awful much. In the contest tonight the Yankees will send CC Sabathia who will look to slow down the Indians offense while Cleveland will counter with their ace and savior Corey Kluber. The game will be played at 5:00 pm ET inside Progressive Field and can be seen on MLB Network. You can also follow along on the radio by tuning into either the WFAN broadcast with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman or by tuning into ESPN Radio.

Prediction: Yankees win 4-3

ALDS Game 2 Preview: New York Yankees @ Cleveland Indians

Two days in a row the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Indians will face off inside Progressive Field as a part of the American League Division Series. Last night we watched as Trevor Bauer and Sonny Gray faced off head-to-head and later this evening we will watch as CC Sabathia takes the ball for the Yankees and Corey Kluber takes the ball for the Indians. Home field advantage, aces and veteran pitchers on the mound. Let’s get to it here in Cleveland.

Sabathia will face off against the team that drafted him into professional baseball tonight at the ripe old age of 37-years old. Sabathia will not blow these Cleveland Indians hitters away, he hasn’t blown anyone away all season long, and instead will have to rely on command and control of all his pitches in order to win tonight for the Yankees.

Kluber had yet another AL Cy Young Award caliber season here in 2017 leading the Major Leagues in ERA with a 2.25 ERA. Kluber has been especially good since June 1 posting a 15-2 record with a 1.62 ERA and 224 strikeouts in just 166.1 innings pitched. Pure dominance.

The game will be played at 5:00 pm ET inside Progressive Field in Cleveland and can be seen on MLB Network. You can also follow along in your cars and on the radio on your commute home from work by tuning into either WFAN with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman or ESPN Radio. Need a win, get an ALDS win. Go Yankees!
