Yankees Acquire Brendan Ryan From Seattle

The New York Yankees have announced that they have acquired short stop Brendan Ryan from the Seattle Mariners for a player to be named later. Ryan will provide the Yankees with some much needed depth at the short stop position although this cannot be good news for Derek Jeter. I am beginning to wonder just what are they not telling us this time about the 39 year old captain?

Ryan will not be eligible for the Yankees post season roster if they were to get that far but I am a firm believer in worrying about that once you get there. Ryan has absolutely zero bat putting up a .192/.254/.265 with three home runs but has an excellent glove at short stop. Eduardo Nunez should be scared after his throwing problems have seem to have resurfaced lately.
