A Rod 211 Game Suspension Pushed Back A Month

Yesterday we reported that Alex Rodriguez's lawsuit against Major League Baseball for their "witch hunt" against him was pushed back two weeks until November, 7th today we learn that the 211 game suspension will be pushed back a month until the middle of November.

Major League Baseball has completed their case against Alex after eight hearings in front of arbitrator Frederic Horowitz. Unless the case is settled before then we will see Alex and his team of lawyers resume their questioning and the entire legal process on November, 18th.

The only problem I have with this is this will push back our free agent signings back because we will still not know whether we have to pay Alex his $25,000,000 for the 2014 or not when free agency opens.

  1. This is ridiculous. What evidence is there that he's innocent? He shouldn't even be appealing anyway. All his appeal did was waste a perfectly good future season on the nightmarish, 2013 season. There is no way he'll win this thing. His obvious selfishness is again taking over and is again messing with the Yankees business. I really want him to go away now. I've had enough

    1. What is the evidence that he is guilty? Haven't seen that. Haven't seen a failed test either. Haven't seen anything but his name on a piece of paper and a testimony from Anthony Bosch that he was paid $5 million for from MLB.

Also even if he gets it reduced it's a win.

  2. Daniel, I realize you're a big Yankees fan, so am I, but A-Rod definitely seems guilty to me. I realize that the media has been bias against him, but that doesn't change the fact that he's admitted using steroids in the past, has tested positive for PEDs, testosterone, and HGH over a course of years (http://m.nydailynews.com/1.1418060), and, as you already mentioned, has been linked to Anthony Boesch. You know who else was linked to Boesch? Ryan Braun. And they didn't hesitate to suspend him for the remainder of the 2013 season. The only reason why MLB waited so long to suspend A-Rod was because was because they had more evidence against him than anyone else. If you say Rodriguez is innocent, you're also saying Braun is innocent. So go over to some Brewers forum and start defending him to if you actually believe what you say.

  3. He probably is, but I want to know why. I am not going to take some scumbags word for it and I am not going to take Anthony Boesch's name for it either. Oh, not to equivocate, the scumbag is Bud Selig.

I have not fought against an A Rod suspension, not at all, I have fought against a 211 game suspension for a guy who never failed a test. And if they have so much evidence why is none of it being released?

Don't know why you're attacking me, you obviously don't read what I post here. I have never defended Braun or A Rod, and I have never said they were innocent. I have ONLY fought for following a system that MLB and the MLBPA agreed upon and abide by and that is a 50 game suspension for the first failed test. Don't pull this "for the good of the game" clause bullshit. I don't think that is much to ask.

  4. In my opinion, A-Rod deserves his 211 suspension. But you're definitely entitled to believe he only deserves a 50 game one.

Sorry if it seemed like I was attacking you. I just have a strong opinion on this subject, that's all. No hard feelings

    1. I would love to hear how they can put an agreement in place, sign a new CBA, and then go around it and break it and that be okay. It is not like the luxury tax where it can be played with a little, it's pretty black and white. 50 games, 100 games, life for a failed test. Show me a test. Show me Boesch's testimony WITHOUT paying him $5,000,000 for it. I know he is guilty. There is no way that Braun, Cruz, Cervelli, Peralta, etc etc etc agree to suspensions if they are innocent and no way that A Rod could be the only innocent one. Again, I don't have a beef with his innocence, nor do I have a problem with him fighting for it. I have a problem with the punishment. If the punishment was going to be "Commissioner's Discretion" then it should be written up that way. All I'm saying.
