Yankees Have Shown Interest In Jeff Baker

The Yankees are still looking to fill in a few gaps this offseason with the roster and that search has been extended to former Texas Rangers outfielder Jeff Baker. Baker is more of a utility player then an outfielder with the ability to play first base, third base, second base, and both corner outfield spots. Baker's right handed power bat can really balance out the lineup and likely platoon with Brian Roberts and others if he is signed.

Baker is 32 years old and is coming off of a .279/.360/.545 triple slash with 11 home runs in only 175 plate appearances in 2013. Baker, and this is serious, missed more than a month with a sprained thumb injury that he got during a high five with a teammate.

  1. MEMORY...how good is yours ? Time acts as an eraser, as does winters cold. Try this one :

This is from late last season. I was coming off the beach. Had to be almost 90 that day.
And looking forward to a cold beer, when I get home. Windows down, and life is good.
Irish will always find that beer, and this was what I watched........

  2. JEFF BAKER...infield / outfield utility...former Texas Ranger...Free Agent.

He CAN do what Vernon Wells can not. Play the field. Multiple fields.
    Last season...74 games / 154 AB... .279 avg...11 HR...21 RBI..........................in 154 AB, not bad ?
I wish Mr. Wells, and Mr. Ichiro Suzuki well. Thank you, but it's time to move forward.

    Jeff Baker's resume.

Clear the space, sign him, and use the monies saved for pitching. Boston did this last year.

  3. Oldest Ranger...now the dog, again ?
A vast improvement over the one where you looked like Fidel Castro's son.
No one took pictures of you as a youth ? That can happen in Hells Kitchen, NY.
The dog is fine. Is he Ken also ?

    1. That's a "Junk Yard Dog" I'll have you know! Better looking than his master...my Golden Retriever is 109# and much nicer than his master!
The only thing bad about him is; he is an English Breed!
I wanted a Irish Wolfhound but my wife was afraid it would eat her, I mean she is about 90# and the Wolfhound is about 135#+/-!

Ballpark, Fishjam, Michael the Mask, and idiot Dan / Rooster....on deck. Time for pecker checks !
Show what you can do, besides peeing in your trousers. ( Some did wear skirts )

BOATSWAIN !...awaken those hopeless bastards, and bring them to us.

    * Greedy posters, seriously.......WE NEED MORE PARTICIPATION.

    1. Nothing is happening other than spending money on over the hill players...again!
My goodness, we have guys down on the farm that are much cheaper and just as good if not better. Why waste money on players we don't need?
Roberts and Thornton are not needed and just stop a player from moving up to the big show, that is dumb!

  5. RANGER...who down in the farm...follow this, is better than Roberts, if he is healthy ?
I saw no one last year, and they brought up 138 players.
If Brian Roberts is healthy, you will smile all season. That concussion knocked him down.
Look at it half full, sir.

  6. History has a habit...bad or good...of repeating itself...Dats' a fact jack!
Roberts (can he stay healthy) is a fine player but he is 34/35 years old just think...he and Jeter up the middle...that is a bad hair day for the pitchers!
Leftys; Nik Turley, Vidal Nuno, Manny Banuelos, Cesar Cabral, David Huff!
Rightys; David Phelps, Adam Warren, Michael Pineda, Dillin Betances

  7. These pictures are going to shorten my life !!...Now This one.

    Alright...you ask " how is this one ? "
Two instant images that I see...the first, you look like the late, Del Shannon. That's good.
The second...Remember Dion ? Dion and the Belmonts ? You are one of the Belmonts,
from Belmont Ave ( that's how they got their name )...Bronx, NYC

You are moving forward. Nice job..... Stay away from the son of Fidel Castro photo.
