Rob Refsnyder Moved To Triple-A

T
he end of Brian Roberts may be near....

The New York Yankees have moved Rob Refsnyder to Triple-A after completely annihilating Double-A pitching this season to the tune of .342/.385/.548. Roberts is either on notice from Refsnyder or the call up has made room for the Yankees to call up Jose Pirela, a name we have seen thrown around this blog for a few weeks now.

The Yankees are being very aggressive with Refsnyder and that excites me. Now if we could just do something with Kelly Johnson and Alfonso Soriano...

  1. GRANT BALFOUR & THE PROMISED LAND.
Every time I post about Balfour, I get stats that mean nothing ! Look at this latest :

" Oakland McAfee Coliseum helped his fly ball tendencies immensely, like I said, and he is getting exposed for what he was before his time in Oakland and what he is now, a home run prone relief pitcher with fire."
Offered up by Daniel....... I must address this as, baloney, son !

Grant Balfours failings have to do with an unearth like stadium. And hostile fans, fueled by a left wing manager. They dislike his wife, because she is out of reach for them.
It was given the kiss of death, from day one. They hated anyone special, who spoke with an accent.
Who could excel there ? Here is a guy, that needs to be transplanted. To New York !

Balfour, is an early version of Mariano, is now under the bus. His manager wishes he would drowned.
Brian Cashman.....strike now ! They will absorb most of his 2 year contract.....they hate him.
And, what you get back...is a pathway to another championship.

Think not ? Check out this killer closer jihad.
Kelly...Warren...Betances...Grant Balfour...and, Robertson. ( Balfour, and Robertson are interchangeable. )
Big Popi's biggest nightmare...Balfour...serving up heat..and laughing at him.
Balfour is here for the taking. If ever the time to strike was at hand....it is now.

PLEASE...no more baloney about the Oakland Stadium. It was just a work space.
And, Grant Balfour excelled there. Look it up.

    1. Saying someone is fly ball prone is not a stat, just as an FYI. I could run out about 15 stats and show you BIP locations but I didn't figure it would do any good, that's why I kept it simple. If you disagree that he is a fly ball pitcher then you're wrong, but I respect you anyway.

Balfour excelled there because of the dimensions and foul ground areas, you look it up. I have, many many times. Posted it many many times, proved it many many times.

  3. Anyone watching the game to-night...other than myself?
Pitching change in the 6th with two outs, in comes the "Monster" Dellin.
Yanks have blown a couple of chances but still are winning 2-1.
Top of the 7th...2-1, Yankees...Nuno did a fine job, not bad for a replacement pitcher!

    1. Old? No, you have too much to do and too little time in which to do it!

  4. Ok, bottom of the 9th, two out one on...strike 3...Yankees win 3-2 after Dellin let them tie it in relief of Nuno.
Jeter hit a ground rule double and Elles knocked him in with a long single to take the lead...which they never relinquished.
Dellin got the win after giving up the tieing run. D-Rob closed it out.

    1. I always say two is enough, after that, it is better to be real, real, real rich!

    2. Besides, you have the kids, the wife, the house, the job and best of all this blog.
Now, that isn't too bad a deal, is it? That little bit, should keep you busy half the day, at lest!

    3. Well our plan was for one... whoops(literally lol).

Not a bad deal at all, very blessed.

  6. Finally, I have some bloggers and writers joining forces with me on the Jeter mess! Even Victor Fuentes says he should be moved down or play much less.
They also point out that the #2 hole is for one of the better hitters on the team...which Jeter ain't any mo!
    Why not try this out;
Brett, Ellsbury, Beltran or Brett, Ellsbury and Solarte, even Ellsbury, Solarte, Beltran?

  7. I have a compromise that does not insult Jeter and actually helps the team allowing our best hitters to hit consecutively.

    Jeter
    Gardner
    Solarte
    Ellsbury
    Teixeira
    McCann
    Beltran
    Soriano
    Roberts

    1. What? You have got to be kidding me! Now you put Jeter in the lead-off spot to get more at bats.
No disrespect but, that is the dumbest line-up I have ever seen!
      You are joking right?

  8. Sorry about that Daniel, I understand your respect for Jeter but, I go by the facts. Liking someone and respecting someone is all good things. But if they can't do the job, it can kill you! Maybe you have heard of the old saw; "The weakest link.........!

  9. I never said that was the lineup I wanted or thought was best, I simply said this was a compromise.

Jeter isn't going to be moved down, bottom line. You put him at the top he gets more first pitch fastballs that he can Jeterian into right field for a single.. then you have a run of your best hitters coming up with runners on base.

It's not ideal but it works better then what we have now. Marginal upgrades are key right now.

  10. If anything, Daniel's lineup puts the best hitters together, instead of some of them betting split up by Jeter... who can be a rally killer (think double play).

    ReplyDelete
  11. That's exactly what I was going for, didn't even consider keeping him out of double plays.

Again, it's not ideal, but it's the best for all parties involved. If I had to make a lineup it would be:

    Gardner
    Solarte
    Ellsbury
    Teixeira
    McCann
    Beltran
    Soriano
    Jeter
    Roberts (Pirela lol)

    1. That is close to the one I had set-up. I like Solarte at #2 but, he hits into a few DP himself...I like it!
