Ladies and gentleman we have arrived! We as Yankees fans
made it through another October and November without our team in it and we made
it through a grueling and frustrating offseason where New York acquired two big
names in Starlin Castro and Aroldis Chapman but still didn’t sign a single MLB
free agent. New York endured injuries this spring and disappointment from their
top prospects but all that and $27 will get you a two-foot-long cheesesteak at
Yankee Stadium today because dammit, it’s Opening Day!
The New York Yankees and the Houston Astros face off today
in a rematch of the American League Wild Card Playoff game from 2015 with
Masahiro Tanaka and Dallas Keuchel taking the mound for their respective teams.
The Astros and Keuchel got the better of New York in that game and in most
games the lefty ace pitched in against New York last season and the Yankees
will look to turn that around today to get their 2016 season off on the right
foot.
The game will be played at 1:05 pm ET and can be seen on ESPN, YES Network and can be heard on the radio with WFAN. Go Yankees!
