Yankees Claim Parker Bridwell, Designate Ronald Torreyes
In a bit of a head scratcher the New York Yankees have claimed RHP Parker Bridwell from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In a corresponding roster move the team has designated Ronald Torreyes for assignment.
Brian Cashman and his scouts must see something in Bridwell that the rest of us don't, or else I don't get this deal. Maybe Bridwell will be packaged along with Sonny Gray? Maybe Torreyes agreed to come back to the club on a new minor league deal?
Stay tuned.

Game Preview: New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 5/26
Good morning everyone and welcome back to the Bronx as
Yankee Stadium and the New York Yankees play host to the Los Angeles Angels of
Anaheim for the middle game of their three-game set. In the opener we watched a
pair of aces take the mound last night for each respective team and tonight we
will see another great pair of arms as the Yankees send Sonny Gray to face off
with TBD at the time of this writing. Should be another good one here in the Bronx, so let’s get to it.
Gray has his best start of the season last time out against
the Kansas City Royals allowing just one run on four hits in eight innings of
work. Sonny has made three quality starts in his last four trips to the mound
and owns a 3.60 ERA and .221 batting average against over that span.
TBA
The game will be played at 7:15 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium
and can be seen on FOX. You can also follow along with the game on MLB TV, with

Enjoy the game, send them back to Disney World crying, and
go Yankees!!
Hello… Memorial Day Weekend
What is Memorial Day? Memorial Day to some means the day off
paid, barbecues and hang outs with friends, but to others it means so much
more. To some it means the one day that their families and their serviceman and
women get the recognition and respect that they so much deserve. This Memorial
Day hits home for me especially because one of my very best friends has
recently joined the Navy. This is his second Memorial Day away from home, but
thankfully he got to come home. It won't always be like this, but I am grateful
that it was this year.
So shake a veteran's hand and thank them for everything that they and their family do. Unless you've lived through it you will never truly understand. So, a big thank you to the veterans that are reading this and their families, and a very big thank you to our very own patrick (always with a little p) Walsh and Ken Reed (and anyone else that frequents the site that I was unaware served or that slipped my mind). I appreciate you, have the utmost respect for you and love you all.
Enjoy the day, and enjoy the long weekend, but just remember why we have it. Thank you.

And baby, four more days… and by the time the Memorial Day
weekend is over, it will be one more day. How exciting!! I love you with all my
heart and all my soul. Always have, and I always will.

Game Preview: New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim 5/25/18
Good morning everyone and welcome to the weekend. This
weekend the New York Yankees and Yankee Stadium will play host to the Los
Angeles Angels of Anaheim in a three-game set. Memorial Day weekend and Yankees
baseball, now that is American. In the start tonight the Yankees will send out Luis
Severino to the mound to face off with Andrew Heaney for the Angels. Let’s get
to it here in the Bronx.
Severino has not lost a start in his last seven starts and
will look to keep that unbeaten streak alive tonight in the Bronx against the
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In his last start against the Angels on April 27
the Yankees right-handed ace took a no decision. Severino last pitched against
the Kansas City Royals five days ago where pitched six innings allowing three
runs in an eventual Yankees victory.
Heaney took the loss in his last start against the Tampa Bay
Rays after giving up four unearned runs in six innings of work. In Heaney’s
last five outings the Angels left-hander has pitched to just a 1.45 ERA and
will look to improve on his career 1-0 record and 1.50 ERA against the Yankees
in two career starts.
The game will be played at 7:05 pm ET inside Yankee Stadium
and can be seen on the YES Network and MLB Network. You can also follow along
with the game on MLB TV, with the MLB At-Bat app and by tuning into the Yankees
radio broadcast with John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman.
Enjoy the game, make up your mind what city you want to
represent already, and go Yankees!!
Hello… Fridaaaaaay!
Good morning everyone and a Happy Friday to you all. We made
it! Pay day, the weekend, or whatever Friday means to you I hope it is great
for you regardless. Tonight, the Yankees start a three-game weekend set with
the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim which should be fun so stick around for that.
Other than that, this is going to be hopefully a relaxing holiday weekend for
me. I have a couple things to do on Saturday, but other than that I am free! I
love it. That means more time with my family and more time with my baby!
I hope everyone has a good weekend, but I especially hope
that you, my Kari, have a great weekend. I love you. Five more days.

I’m Hungry: Yankee Stadium Food
Good morning everyone. Am I the only one that woke up hungry
as hell today? I doubt it, but really. I’m hungry and the food at Yankee
Stadium this season looks absolutely amazing. Let’s take advantage of the off
day today as the Yankees travel back to the Bronx and hit the high spots in
terms of food choices inside Yankee Stadium III.
Put away the peanuts, stay away from the Cracker Jacks, and
popcorn is a waste of goof stomach space here in the Bronx. Especially when you
consider that section 127 has hand rolled taquitos in a plastic Yankees cup! I
love taquitos, and I won’t apologize for it either. The three taquitos are
sitting in a helping of chili con queso and pico de gallo. Black bean and
chicken are your protein options.
Bacon cheeseburger crispy dumpling. Enough said, right? The
Noodle Bowl Stand in section 127 sells ground beef, bacon and cheese wrapped in
a dumpling before being fried and serves them with Thousand island dressing and
a stadium-made pickle.
Adobo Bao can be found in the Toyota Terrace and is a Filipino-style
pulled chicken thigh and garlic aioli sauce topped with crispy pork cracklings
in a steamed bun. If this is how they eat in the Philippines, count me in.
The Rotisserie Chicken and Steak Stand in section is where
you need to go for all the meat you could ever dream of. The rotisserie
chickens are all organic and cooked there right on the spot, served in halves
with fries. The steak is a 10-ounce flatiron steak that is also served with
fries.
Of course, you can always stop by Jersey Mike’s sub sandwiches,
Mighty Quinn’s BBQ, Papa John’s Pizza (gross), Ben & Jerry’s, Nathan’s
Famous (a must), Bacon on a Stick, Tater Kegs and so much more. Come hungry.
Hello… Another Off Day
Good morning everyone and Happy Thursday to you all. Friday
eve, and six more days and counting. The weekend is almost here, and the New
York Yankees are off today, enjoy the day. The team heads home to play host to
the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim over the weekend which could include a
Masahiro Tanaka vs. Shohei Otani pitching matchup in the Bronx on Sunday
afternoon. Stay tuned for that because that will be a good one worth watching
in my opinion. I hope you all have a great day.
And hey you. Chin up, six more days. I love you.

Comparing the Yankees and Red Sox 17-2 Streaks
The 2018 Major League Baseball season has been nothing short
of amazing in my opinion, and not just as a fan of the New York Yankees. We
have seen shutouts, no-hitters, come-from-behind victories, dominating pitching
performances, hitters putting on clinics and a pair of runs that saw teams go
17-2 over a span of 19 games. The Boston Red Sox did it first to open the 2018
season, but did the Yankees do it better? Let’s compare and borrow a tweet from
our good friend Jared Carrabis, because truth be told not all his tweets are
ridiculous after all.
Over the Red Sox 17-2 run, they hit .293 with an .858 OPS and a 2.17 starting pitching ERA. Over the Yankees 17-1 run, they've hit .250 with a .786 OPS and a 2.19 starting pitching ERA. https://t.co/0eTeaR4vyY— Jared Carrabis (@Jared_Carrabis) May 10, 2018
Stats are all fine and good, but who did the Red Sox beat during their span and who did the Yankees beat up on during their span? Because while parity may be a dream of MLB executives and Commissioner Rob Manfred, a reality it is not. There is a huge difference between going 17-2 over teams like the Baltimore Orioles who are on pace to lose well over 100 games and going 17-2 against potential playoff and first place teams.

Jared Carrabis and Red Sox fans can point out all the stats
they want to as they cherry pick to make themselves look good, but the bottom
line is the New York Yankees did it better. Period, and there isn’t any
argument to be had about it. Strength of schedule is a thing in MLB whether
anyone wants to recognize it or not.
All stats courtesy of Baseball Reference. Kudos to both
teams, whether the Yankees or Red Sox did it “better” or not is irrelevant,
winning 17 games out of 19 games is impressive nonetheless. Even if it was done
by the damn Red Sox.
Enjoy your Saturday everyone. Go Yankees!!
