Player A is Yangervis Solarte. Player B is Robinson Cano. Remember when all of Yankeeland was up in arms about Cano leaving town for the Mariners? Me either.

  1. I for one was not one of those upset fans at all, wasn't happy about it but not upset. Looking back on it, wouldn't it have been great to have both of them? We know Cano would be hitting much better here, in NY, than he is now.
But, that's the way the game is today, he gave up a chance to go into the HoF (maybe) for the money. His mistake...no, I don't think so, one can't spend a HoF pick!

  2. Both would be fantastic. Solarte at third, Cano at second, this offense looks totally different. If possible this offense would be crazy scary and crazy good with Cano in the middle of it.

    1. Amen to that!
I just had a crazy thought, if Cano gets really ugly with his new team because of this or that...he is a very sensitive guy don't ya know...he already has had some nasty things to say about the team and belittling some of the players! He may demand to be traded, then what? Do the Yankees take a flyer on him or do they let him hang out to dry?
That is the $1,000,000,000 question? And I have no answer to it.

    2. I can't fathom the Yankees taking on that contract... not after they refused to give him one in that neighborhood. George isn't running the team anymore...

    3. I thought the Yanks offered him ABOUT the same total of money but for a shorter time?
The thing is, George was a very loyal guy, if you showed it to him or the Yankees. If not a true Yankee, from head to toe...good-bye!
In this case, (in my opinion of him and his way of running things) I would expect him to come out with something like; "You had your chance and turned us down for more money, don't call us we'll call you...NOT"!
Now we have Cashman, and he wouldn't even talk to them about him. Then we have the three twins of stupid (counting Randy) they are so nuts they might just do it at the old contract they offered...with the Union saying NO, NO, NO!
I guess it is a lost situation...no good for Cano and no way with the Yanks!
To make a short answer long...call on me!

  3. We offered somewhere around $175-$185 million over seven or eight years while Seattle went up to 10 years and $240 million... so not all that close.

  4. FORMER YANKEE : Robinson Cano.
As in, don't let the door hit you in the ass, on the way out.
He choose to leave. He wanted the most money. He got what he wanted. Period.
I don't care, if now he is...sensitive. I could care less, if he does not get along well with some team mates. Maybe they think he is over paid, and under producing ?

This is all about him, and what he needed...to be paid what the rapper said he was worth.
( The rapper, in a correct world, should have done time for the things he did. )

He will never wear Yankee pinstripes again. That pleases me.
Even George, I miss him, would never, ever, bring that Seattle Mariner back to the stadium.

For those that care, today Cano hit his second home run of the season. Solarte, has five.
