  1. Sure glad we brought Chaz Roe up and into the game. He was obviously the most deserving.

    1. Richardson is an extremely light hitting career minor league player. (10 seasons.) He'll turn 31 in October and has a grand total of 4 mlb at bats. So basically, he's worse then the outfielder we designated today. (Almonte)

    2. Jeff, I respectively disagree, this guy can fly! His avg is ok, just doesn't hit the long ball.
I saw him play when he played for Rochester a few times. He is not a big guy but putting him on base is the pitchers worse night dream come to life, he will steal any base he can and doesn't get caught very often, a base on balls is a double for him, and if you aren't very watchful it can end-up being a triple!
Fans think of Ells and Brett being fast, this guy is as fast, if not faster...maybe a bit faster than they are. But, he takes to many chances...one has to gamble sometimes but, make sure your Ego isn't out striping your Knowledge and Experiences!

    3. The Yankees always seem to bring up these career pinch runners. Too many times I've seen them get too excited and get picked off. He got drafted by the Giants in 2005 and has appeared in 9 games at the major league level. I'm not saying he isn't fast, or won't steal a few bags for us. What I'm saying is that somebody like Almonte, Austin, or even Mason Williams would have been a better choice. More offensive potential. The other thing that bothers me, we probably just gave up Almonte for nothing.

  3. Antoan Richardson = the Dave Roberts of the 2004 postseason. I tried to come up with a few recent Yankees and I am coming up blank. Basically a guy that can come off the bench in the ninth inning to pinch run, steal a base, score from first on a double, etc. If he hits expect an out, every time.

I, like Jeff, have a problem with losing Almonte for Richardson. Bring up Richardson, but why lose Almonte? Because Girardi is too much of a puss to use him? I hope he latches on with another team and doesn't accept and Triple-A assignment

    1. I agree with both of you, Antoan for Almonte isn't even a question to be asked. I hadn't known they had to give Almontes place for him. I thought he was here just to steal a run or two, but only move someone to the DL.
Antoan is a very good AAA player, but the Yankees...no matter how they are playing...are not a AAA team.

  4. New York isn't struggling in the stolen base department they are struggling in the hitting home runs and scoring runs department. Even Zoilo, as flawed as he is, does that more than Richardson
