Game Thread: New York Yankees @ Texas Rangers 7/28

The New York Yankees and the Texas Rangers face off for the second time in a four game set this week in the great state of Texas. New York has their big guns going in this series and will look for another win and another series victory tonight in Arlington. Tonight the Yankees will use a spot starter and a six-man rotation temporarily to give Masahiro Tanaka, Michael Pineda and the rest of the staff a day off by inserting Adam Warren and Chris Capuano as the starter. Opposing Capuano and Warren will be Martin Perez for the Rangers. The game will be played at 8:05 pm ET and can be seen on Fox Sports 1 and MLB TV.

New York is coming home next week to Yankee Stadium to play host to David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox so be sure to have your tickets in hand when the team comes to town. By clicking the Yankees Tickets link at the top of the blog we can help you root for the home team against their most hated rivals for cheap. Until then head over to Twitter and give @GreedyStripes a follow to root for the Yankees while they are on the road in Texas and Chicago for the rest of the week.

Warren and Capuano are both ready and so are the Yankees and their bullpen, hopefully. Go Yankees!

  1. Yeah. Good idea Girardi. Let's start Capuano.

  2. Little Jeffrey Levine.....Do you bunk out with Hansel ?

You, and Hans, are so overly critical of everything. Like everyone else is a dumb ass.
Capuano was the straw drawn. Because he flamed out, is not Girardi's fault.

Capuano is taken out, and now it's 19-5. Joe knew something !

  3. Wait a minute little Patrick. We have an opinion and we are critical, you have an opinion and its ok. That's always my issue on this board. Everyone is an effing hypocrite. It's ok for you and others to have an opinion but when I have them, my opinion its wrong. My issues are as follows and I have stuck to them because they are my beliefs. I think Cashman sucks, Eovaldi has a fluke record because he can't pitch into the 6th and Didi is a stop gap, however I will have to admit Didi has played the field much better and his stick has come around. And for my boy Levin...Gardner is still a punch and Judy hitter in my eyes. You guys don't like it that's fine I could care less. I'm entitled to my opinion and that's what I believe.

    1. EVERYONE isn't a hypocrite Hans, I don't think I've ever held anyone back from supporting and defending their ideas and opinions. I try to leave it open for everyone, if I haven't done a good job of that then I apologize. I try to be a fan here, not a moderator... you know?

    2. You are correct Burch. You're one of the few you can have a good back and forth the others are hypercrites. I have an opinion and get jumped others have an opinion and it's ok. I think you do a great job on the site

    3. Well I appreciate you, and everyone, being here and the kind words. We need to direct our anger to Hal and Cash, not each other. Dustin freaking Ackley for two decent prospects.

  4. Little p, I'm being over critical for one reason. That reason is this. Capuano will keep his roster spot, and a more deserving Moreno will be sent down. Girardi knew nothing.

    1. Girardi gets away with a ton because more times than not talent trumps all, same can be said here. If the offense doesn't explode then Girardi to be fired chants starts. Girardi knew nothing, I agree with that.

No reason to keep Capuano with such better options down in the minors. Especially with well more than half of his $5 million already paid out.

  5. Well I stand corrected. Capuano got designated. It's about time the Yankees made a change based off performance and not salary.

    1. Amen, Levin! If the team is willing to eat $2 million for Capuano are we finally ready to see the end of Stephen Drew? We hope so...
