Hello… Maybe Pedro Martinez Was Right?

Good morning Yankees family and welcome back to the blog. You know, maybe Pedro Martinez was right. If you don’t know what I am talking about, Pedro Martinez was quoted recently as saying, to paraphrase, that the Yankees cannot use the injury bug as an excuse for their play lately and their free fall in the standings. Pedro went on to say that there was no hustle and energy with this team, and you know what? He hit the nail on the head, and he is absolutely correct.

Attitude reflects leadership. If the team is lackadaisical that is on them, but if they are lackadaisical and get away with it… well that is on Aaron Boone. And if the team is lackadaisical and gets away with it and nothing is said to Aaron Boone, well then that’s on Brian Cashman and Hal Steinbrenner. I can keep going, but the bottom line is this. August 24, 2018… someone needs to wake “tf” up. That is all.

Hey you, I love you. I woke up next to you, so today will be a good day.

  2. I agree with you. Some Yankee fans have taken offense at Pedro's words but I have found there are generally truths in his words and I agree with his current assessment even if the Yankees have the second best record in baseball.

  3. Pedro was 100 % correct .
Gardner is one of the ones laying down on the job , sorry working the pitch count is great if your scoreless or down maybe a run before you get to the 9th inning..
To many times this year he has looked at strike 3 on a pitch to close to take.
Stanton , you gotta make an adjustment they throw you the same slider away a foot offf the plate it seems and you swing for strike 3 every time and take a pitch down the middle.
We don't take the extra base , we don't move up on deep fly balls,Cashman needs to get a leader in the clubhouse not a bunch of meely mouths and Boone your inexperience is showing or Rothschild is feeding you wrong info on when to pull a pitcher and when to leave one in.
I know Judge,Sanchez and Didi hurts but please were playing Miami and Baltimore and Tampa and well you get the drift.
Step it up Bird , though I think if they would place you in front of Miggy you would see better pitches to hit instead of this up and down the lineup garbage.
Come on Cashman , sign Valencia or trade for Grandy man .I mean really Luke Voight and Shane Robinson.
Hal quit sitting on the checkbook and get the deals done now.
