Greedy Pinstripes Weekend Finale Open Thread

The weekend just flies by, doesn't it? Between the yard work, helping the kids with school work, being a dad, being a husband and being a blogger there just isn't enough time in the day. The weekends used to be for rest but now they are simply for catching up or go, go, going. Oh well I'm not complaining and I wouldn't have it any other way but by around this time Sunday evening I'm usually pretty done both physically and mentally. So for that reason I leave you with an open thread for the evening to discuss whatever you'd like.

Enjoy it and enjoy the rest of your evening and weekend. Have a good one and never forget!

Weekend Finale Open Thread

For this weekend finale open thread I just have one question for anyone and everyone reading this? Why does the typical work week seem to just drag and drag and drag while you can nod off for a second or stop to breathe on the weekend and it's over? Something seems wrong about that, maybe it's a conspiracy theory. Does the universal timer get put on 2X speed during the weekend and 0.5X throughout the week? I need to speak to someone on this and if the blog goes quiet you know I asked the wrong person the wrong question in the wrong position. President Obama I'm looking at you when I say this.

I am kidding obviously, well hopefully, but seriously this weekend has once again flown by and now it's over. Here is a weekend finale open thread for you guys and girls. I hope you had as awesome of a weekend as I did with my family and children. See you back at it tomorrow bright and early. Good night Yankees family!

Greedy Pinstripes Weekend Finale Open Thread

The weekend is over and so is the content here on the blog for the weekend. Monday morning looms and I have a ton to get done before it comes so tonight I leave you with an open thread for the evening and for the weekend. Talk about whatever you'd like. What show comes on tonight that has caught your attention? I could always use more to watch. What new music is out? I'm so far out of the loop with it. Leave it below in the comments.

Hope you had a great weekend Yankees family. Here's to another great week next week.

Taking My Wife Out to Dinner Open Thread

So as many of you saw on Thursday I wished my wife a very happy birthday this week but until now I haven't been able to take her out to dinner. We went out on Thursday but it wasn't the birthday dinner I wanted to take her out to nor the birthday dinner that she deserved. We had inventory at work on Friday (which means early to work and LATE to leave) and inventory reconciliation on Saturday (rinse and repeat the early and late departures) so we're just now getting to do it right.

So while we eat, celebrate and be merry I leave you with an open thread for the night with one of my wife's favorite artists right now as the musical recommendation. The name of the song is Animals by Maroon 5. Enjoy.

Weekend Finale Open Thread

This has been one hell of a weekend for the sports fan, hasn't it? The Yankees and the Blue Jays played four games in basically 48 hours inside Yankee Stadium while the NFL and College Football continued and started their respected schedules. The wife wasn't very happy about the sports schedule this weekend and my amount of television or internet time but what can you do, right?

So I leave you with an open thread for the night since I am going to watch Fear The Walking Dead and head to bed. Goodnight Yankees family, enjoy the song Final Countdown by Europe.... just because it describes the finale of the MLB season.

Weekend Finale Open Thread

While this has been one of your run of the mill weekends for most this has been an absolutely crazy weekend for myself. The Yankees came down to Atlanta and I made the two hour trek to Turner Field with my wife and my son and made the two hour trek back to my home on Saturday which really wore me out. When I was younger and it was just me and the wife going to a game and staying out all night was nothing, we even went to work the next day, but now not so much. You don't merely sit in your seats for nine innings with a curious five-year old. You walk around the park, you go to the bathroom about 14 times, you go and get hot dogs, you go  and get drinks, you go see the sites and the museum's inside the ballpark and you're up by 7:00 AM the very next morning because you got two hours of sleep on the way home and you're a kid.

And it was all worth it....

Needless to say I'm beat so I leave you with this open thread to finish off the weekend here on the blog. I may stay up to watch Fear the Walking Dead but I doubt it so just in case I nod off I wanted to leave you here with this music recommendation out of my personal collection. It's my son's favorite song and I think we listened to it like 14 times on the way down to Atlanta Saturday and another nine times on the way home before he finally fell asleep. America's Suitehearts, the remix, by Fallout Boy. Enjoy!

Weekend Finale Open Thread

Not only is the Yankees game for the day over but so is the Yankees home stand this week inside Yankee Stadium. The team heads out on the road to Cleveland after their off day tomorrow but not before we close the book on this weekend as well with a weekend finale thread. It sure would have been nice to sweep the Blue Jays this weekend but the most important thing is that the team is still in first place in the American League East Division race and still have enough talent to hold off the rest of the pack. I just wish I had enough talent to tell this overwhelming urge in my head telling me to go to sleep that I'm not ready. The morning comes early and it's my son's first full week of Kindergarten so I'll end the week with this thread.

So I leave you tonight with this music recommendation out of my personal collection, "Take Me To Church" by Hozier. It is Sunday afterall... enjoy!

Weekend Finale Open Thread

The New York Yankees game with the Chicago White Sox is in the books and so is the weekend. What a sports weekend this was too with the Yankees playing a trio of games inside US Cellular Field while UFC 190 went down late into the night Saturday night. I'm beat and the grind of work begins tomorrow whether I'm ready or not so I'm going to bed shortly.

So tonight I leave you with a musical recommendation out of my own personal collection, "Face the Pain" by Stemm. This is the into music to UFC everytime a PPV comes on and I had the fights from the weekend on the mind when I posted this. Enjoy!

Weekend Finale Open Thread

Monday's suck but I think I may despise Sunday night's more and more these days. First and foremost I am dreading the Monday morning which keeps me from wanting to do ANYTHING on Sunday night and secondly the Yankees game is usually long over by now. I miss the Sunday Night ESPN games and broadcasts for whatever reason. The Yankees were very successful in them, it was fun to bash John Kruk and Curt Schilling on Twitter, the banter and mentions on our Twitter (@GreedyStripes) went crazy and it was just fun. Oh well, it's just as fun winning on a Sunday afternoon I guess. Anyway this is it for the night, an open thread for you guys.

I leave you tonight with this song from my own personal collection and it's a little something different then what I normally post. The name of the song is "Your Love" by The Outfield. Enjoy.

Weekend Finale Open Thread

The New York Yankees game is over, the series with the Seattle Mariners is over and so is the weekend unfortunately. Where does the time go, I mean really? Anyway I leave you with another open thread tonight to chat about anything you'd like. The Yankees series with the Seattle Mariners, the upcoming series with the Baltimore Orioles in the Bronx, the state of the world and the universe, anything you want. Just have fun!

Like every open thread I leave you with a music recommendation out of my own personal collection. The name of the song tonight is "Hesitate" and the song by is by Stone Sour.

Saturday Night Open Thread

Well the Yankees game is in the books and so is my energy level for the day, sounds like the perfect opportunity to utilize one of these nifty little open threads for the night. The Yankees have been playing 8:00 pm ET games the last three Saturday’s in a row so it will be nice to be able to watch a movie with the kids or something, you know?

So here is the thread for the night, use it to talk about whatever you like. The Knicks draft score? The Yankees inability to hit Dallas Keuchel or any bad teams this season? Alex Rodriguez’s run at an ESPN ESPY Award? Have fun and enjoy.

I leave you with this music recommendation out of my own personal iPod. The band is called “Seether” and the name of the song is "FMLYHM." Enjoy!

Sunday Night Open Thread

The New York Yankees are done playing a 17 games in 17 days stretch and have a much needed day off tomorrow before traveling to Washington to take on the Washington Nationals. Honestly this weekend has been crazy for me so I am leaving this open thread for you because I will be away for much of the evening. Chat it up about anything including whether or not the NL should adapt the DH position (Yankees pitchers will hit on Tuesday and Wednesday), the Jorge Posada book or whatever you like.

Enjoy your evening Yankees family.

Weekend Open Thread

It's the weekend and I have been asked to post an open thread to comment in all weekend long. You ask and you shall receive. Go crazy, talk about anything and have fun. Enjoy your weekend, I am personally taking the boys to Legoland tomorrow. I don't know who is more excited, me or them. Enjoy and have at it.
