Yankees Off Day Walk Up Music Recommendation

Somehow, we haven’t done one of these here in 2018, shame on me. The wrong will be righted today though as we use today’s off day to check in with one member of the New York Yankees in a pretty unique way. Today we will be checking out what kind of music one of the newest Yankees, Giancarlo Stanton, hears blaring through the Yankee Stadium speakers every time he takes an at-bat in Yankees pinstripes.

The name of the song is Ali Bomaye and the artist is The Game. Stanton also walks up to a Michael Jackson song, maybe we can showcase that one on the next Yankees off day.

Yankee Stadium Off Day Music Recommendation

The New York Yankees are off today as they finally get a day of rest as the team travels to square off with the Houston Astros so let’s have a little fun today with our relaxation, shall we?

Every off day the Yankees have, or close to it as we can get, we showcase one of the Yankees players walkup music as they step up to the plate or enter from the bullpen and today, friends, will be no different. Today we will showcase the walkup music of the one that makes us rise….. yeah not the greatest choice of words. Aaron Judge!

Every time Judge takes his place at the plate inside Yankee Stadium the song "Through the Late Night" by Travis Scott can be heard blaring through the Yankee Stadium speakers.

Also, from my own personal collection, I have been stuck on this Logic album called “Everybody.” I especially like the song below called “Everybody.”

Another Yankees Off Day…. Another Musical Recommendation

We spoke about this briefly the other day, well the last time the Yankees had an off day actually, but I want to touch on it a little more here today. The Chainsmokers finally released an album after countless singles and a couple of EP’s (that I know about) and I have to say I am pretty impressed with it. Is it going to win album of the year? Well I highly doubt that to be honest but I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it my first two-or-three times through so I wanted to share some of it here for you today.

If you’re new here and you’re wondering why we are talking music on a Yankees-related blog it is because we usually go casual and talk about whatever on off days. It is part of what makes us, us. We will bring you the walk up music and entrance music for various players throughout the year on off days, we will bring you baseball related movies and book recommendations and pretty much anything we can think of to be different, unique and entertaining.

That’s why you come in the first place, isn’t it? Enjoy the off day and your Tuesday everybody.

Things to Do on a Yankees Off Day

So the New York Yankees are off again today leaving me with a burning question… what in the world are we going to do with ourselves to pass the time? Here are a few suggestions for you if you find yourself in the same conundrum.

Go outside. I know it sounds crazy but vitamin D deficiencies are no joke.

Read a book. I plan on picking up the “Thirteen Reasons Why” series as I have begun watching the show on Netflix.

Speaking of Netflix…. Netflix and chill. Or just chill. Cardio is healthy for you and it’s something I am a firm believer in doing as often as humanly possible. Especially in the rain.

Listen to some new music. There’s plenty to choose from. I have been on a Ed Sheeran kick here lately, and it was a Weeknd kick before that and I played the absolute hell out of J Cole’s album “For Your Eyez Only” before that but there is so much more that I am sure I’m missing out on. The Chainsmokers are releasing an album tomorrow I believe, which means it’s probably been on the internet for weeks now and I just missed it, and so much more I could name. Music is a release. 

The Yankees Final Off Day of 2016

The New York Yankees are off today. The next time we get to say that, barring a historic run of course, the 2016 regular season will be over and 10 teams (or possibly more I guess) will be awaiting their fates in the 2016 postseason. I had the Yankees making the postseason this year before this disastrous series with the Boston Red Sox but that's baseball sometimes. I'm not giving up, I'm just extremely discouraged and I can't see it logistically happening.

So with this final off day of the regular season we have the final off day music recommendation of the season. This is the last one, that's a lot of pressure. Who do I choose? My favorite player? The flavor of the week? How about just the song I like the most?

So with that in mind I went with an old song but a song that I truly love, the song that plays when Tyler Clippard enters a game inside Yankee Stadium. "Ready or Not" by the Fugees. Enjoy!

Yankee Stadium Walk Up Music Recommendation featuring Gary Sanchez

What do you get when you win consecutive MLB Player of the Week Awards? I don’t know, that’s a question you will have to ask the Yankees rookie catcher Gary Sanchez. I know what I do when the Yankees have an off day and they also have a player that has won consecutive Player of the Week Awards under their belt as a rookie, I recommend their walk up music every time they take a Yankee Stadium at bat in hopes of hyping you up for your work day.

Every time the Kraken, or El Gary Sanchez as I like to call him, steps up to the plate inside Yankee Stadium the song Unstoppable by Sia blares through the speakers in the Bronx. If it’s not, it should be anyway. That same song blares through your speakers, hopefully, today while we all enjoy this Yankees off day. 

Yankee Stadium Off Day Music Recommendation featuring Aaron Judge

Back in January someone asked Aaron Judge what he wanted his walk-up music to be if and when he reached the Major Leagues and he answered with something I don't think anyone before him has. He said he would use the intro music to the popular television show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Okay then, when you're that big and that good you can do whatever you want.

Yankees Off Day Walk Up Music Recommendation

The Yankees are off tonight as you may have guessed by all the content here on the blog today and like we do on every off day here on the blog we like to bring you a little something different. While some bloggers, not naming any names whatsoever, enjoy the night off I just can’t do that for whatever reason and I have to keep the content flowing. Today I bring you a music recommendation from Yankee Stadium, the walk up music for Aaron Hicks.

I have been harder on Hicks than probably anyone has this season and I am willing to eat a little crow and sit here with egg on my face if and when he can turn things around and prove me wrong. He has come a long way in doing that since the Carlos Beltran trade but I am a firm believer in large sample sizes and FYI, three weeks is not a large sample size.

So here is Hicks walk up music. Get used to it because no matter what the stat line says Joe Girardi is going to play him every single day until the end of the season. The name of the song is “Fire” and the artist is the Ohio Players. Enjoy. 

Yankees Off Day Walk Up Music Recommendation for Greg Bird

The New York Yankees learned this weekend that Mark Teixeira would be calling it a career at the end of the 2016 MLB season. Many wondered if New York would bring Teixeira back on a cheap one-year deal or even offer him a qualifying offer after Greg Bird went down with a shoulder injury in spring training before the season but with that option now off the board I believe the Yankees are now all-in on Bird, whether they really want to be or not.

To be fair Bird has already resumed baseball activities including throwing, swinging a bat and such so he should be more than ready, or at the very least the Yankees should know one way or the other the status of that shoulder, by spring training 2017. Since the Yankees now presumably have to rely on him so heavily next season, and since we haven't talked much about him this season to be fair, I wanted to use this off day as an opportunity to look ahead a bit and listen to the music we will hear every time the lefty steps up to the plate inside Yankee Stadium next season.

When Bird steps to the plate inside Yankee Stadium the song "Right Above It" by Lil Wayne can be heard blaring through the speakers in the Bronx... and that same song can be heard blaring through your speakers now on this off day. Enjoy.

Weekend Finale Open Thread

For this weekend finale open thread I just have one question for anyone and everyone reading this? Why does the typical work week seem to just drag and drag and drag while you can nod off for a second or stop to breathe on the weekend and it's over? Something seems wrong about that, maybe it's a conspiracy theory. Does the universal timer get put on 2X speed during the weekend and 0.5X throughout the week? I need to speak to someone on this and if the blog goes quiet you know I asked the wrong person the wrong question in the wrong position. President Obama I'm looking at you when I say this.

I am kidding obviously, well hopefully, but seriously this weekend has once again flown by and now it's over. Here is a weekend finale open thread for you guys and girls. Yankees Off Day Yankee Stadium Walk Up Music Recommendation

The New York Yankees are off today as they travel from Houston back to the east coast to begin a three-game weekend set inside Tropicana Field against the Tampa Bay Rays. Many thought this second half schedule would kill and bury the Yankees but the team has made the most of the opportunities against tough teams and against teams in front of them and have impressed many. That doesn’t mean you can lay down against one of the worst teams record wise in the American League. Beat the Rays!

Unfortunately these games won’t happen inside Yankee Stadium (which begs the question… if no one is there to see these Rays and Yankees games did they really happen?) but that doesn’t mean we can’t listen to some music that blares inside Yankee Stadium every time Andrew Miller enters from the bullpen to now close games for the Yankees. Does it?

Every time Andrew Miller enters a game inside Yankee Stadium the song “God's Gonna Cut You Down“ by Johnny Cash is played. Let’s listen to that today as we sit and look out the window like Lou Gehrig used to just waiting on baseball to return.

Yankees “One More Off Day” Yankee Stadium Music Recommendation

The New York Yankees are off one more day before returning home to the Bronx tomorrow night to play host to David Ortiz and the Boston Red Sox inside Yankee Stadium. Yankee Stadium, the home of the Yankees and the place to hear some differing genres in music when players step up to the plate and enter the game from the bullpen. Players like Brian McCann, the Yankees catcher and a personal favorite of mine.

Every time McCann stands up at the plate in Yankee stadium “Till I Collapse” by Eminem blares in the Yankee Stadium speakers. Enjoy the last day off of the All Star break. 

Yankees Off Day Yankee Stadium Music Recommendation

The New York Yankees are off today and there isn’t much going on so how about a music recommendation for your drive home, while you’re cooking dinner, while you’re just chilling at work or just because? Sounds good to me too so this evening we’ll check in with and listen to the music that Didi Gregorius hears every time he steps up to the plate inside Yankee Stadium.

Greedy Pinstripes Saturday Night Open Thread

The top prospects in the Yankees farm system have been checked in with, the Yankees and Twins game is in the books, we decided for Brian Cashman and company who should go down if and when Mark Teixeira returns from the disabled list and now we’re beat. Yankee Stadium Off Day Walk Up Music Recommendation

Another day and another off day for the New York Yankees. I’m sure the team isn’t complaining much after playing in 40 games in 41 days but I know the fans can sometimes get a little impatient with two days off in a week. Nothing we can do about that though, that’s fully in the MLB scheduler’s hands, but we can enjoy the day, get that project done we’ve been meaning to get done and recharge the batteries both physically and mentally.

Like we do with every off day we bring to you today the walk up or entrance music for one of the Yankees players or stars and today that star is Aroldis Chapman. After hearing Enter Sandman for so many years at the beginning of every 9^th inning in the Bronx we’ve been given a variety of music to enjoy over the years with the latest being “Wake Up” by Rage Against the Machine.

Enjoy the song and enjoy the off day. New York welcomes Minnesota to the Bronx tomorrow for a three-game weekend set inside Yankee Stadium. It should be fun. 

Yankees Off Night Open Thread

The New York Yankees are off tonight as they travel home to sleep in their own beds before beginning a home stand against the Colorado Rockies. These same Rockies swept away the Yankees in a two game series in Colorado last week and New York will look to extract some revenge this week in the Bronx. First thing is first though, a night to rest and recharge the batteries. That's exactly what I am going to do as well so I leave you with this open thread for the night. The New York Yankees are off again today as they leave the Great Lakes area to come back home to the Bronx, New York and Yankee Stadium. As we like to do with every off day we will bring you an off day music recommendation with a twist to keep you busy on this Yankees off day. New York Yankees Off Day Open Thread

The New York Yankees are off tonight after playing 40 games in 41 days and the rest tonight is much deserved and definitely much needed. It's too bad that the team is likely spending the off day traveling out west to Colorado to take on the Colorado Rockies inside Coors Field. So while the Yankees either travel or get settled into their hotel rooms to have nightmares of facing Nolan Arenado for three games I leave you with this open thread for the night.

The New York Yankees are off tonight, I haven't been able to say that much in the last forty-something days unfortunately, so like the Yankees are undoubtedly resting up tonight I plan on doing the same.
