Yankees Off Night Open Thread

The New York Yankees are off tonight after their second quick two-game series with the Washington Nationals this season sandwiched in between a pair of off days. Tonight the Yankees rest and presumably travel to Baltimore to prepare to take on the Baltimore Orioles tomorrow night inside Camden Yards and Oriole Park. Michael Pineda will be making his first start in almost two weeks tomorrow after New York skipped his last start in hopes of limiting his innings this season.

Should the Yankees go to a six man rotation when Ivan Nova returns off the disabled list? Should New York be skipping starters to preserve innings for later in the season and potentially a postseason run? Will the Cleveland Cavaliers shock the planet and win the NBA Finals? Talk about all of that and more tonight in this thread, go crazy.

I leave you with this musical recommendation out of my own personal music collection. The name of the song is “I Hate My Life” and the name of the band is Theory of a Deadman. Have a good night Yankees family.

Daniel...At times I can not relate to your music. I try, but the tunes fail.

Not today. Enjoyed the ' Theory of a Deadman "...Will investigate further, to
see if I can find other songs...just as good, off of that CD.
    Thanks.

    1. Try "Gentleman" "Bad Girlfriend" "Hurricane" or "Santa Monica" from TOADM. They are my personal favorites. Glad you enjoyed them, I try and put something different up when I can.

  2. Daniel, are you tone deaf? lol
Why not bring on those that make/made real music...without all the electrical stuff making them sound good.
Try Brubeck, Miles Davis, Coltrane, The one and only Oscar Peterson. And singers like Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett, Sinatra, Nat "King" Cole, and the ladies of Song; Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Peggy Lee, Rosemary Clooney!

I was so upset with that game last night, I went into my office put the footstool on the table added the chair and the end table and listened to some wonderful Holiday and Bennett songs as I sat teetering on the three legged end table.

    1. Not deaf, just young enough to not know half of those musicians and just old enough to be stubborn enough and stuck in my ways not to give them a true listen.

    2. I hear you loud and clear Daniel.
I too have some trouble with music...the music of today, not all, but a lot of it as it seems one can have a good voice tie it in a sexy outfit and you are a star. Singers/songwriters like Niel Diamond, Mel Torme, Cole Porter, Merle Haggard, James Taylor and others, wrote some of the classic songs of our (my) time!

  3. I have finally come to the conclusion, I am old at 77/78. After coaching the infielders, I stepped into the batting cage for the first time this year...because the guys saw a picture of me a few years ago at the plate and couldn't understand how one can hit with their hands spread apart about 6"... I missed about 30% of the pitches, unacceptable! So, I told them, those that can, do...those that can't, teach! I now only teach! My hands are not what they once were.
