Detroit Becomes Front Runners In Torii Hunter Market

The Detroit Tigers are looking to replace Delmon Young in their outfield and appear to be the front runner to land Torii Hunter who has been linked to the Yankees since before the season even ended. Torii is seeking a two year deal worth $20 million and the Yankees seem adamant on not giving out anything but one year deals this off season to stick with the 2014 Luxury Tax threshold plan. Torii told MLB Network today that he would like to make his decision as quickly as possible and that he may decide in the next two weeks. If Torii wants a two year deal that bad then I guess I would be okay with letting him walk away to Detroit. If he would settle for a team or mutual option for 2014 then I think sign him up in pinstripes sooner rather than later.
